I've only had "science" up until high school. Sure, when you're a kid, they just lump everything together for simplicity's sake. You don't want to teach a 6th grader just physics, they need a general foundation on all kinds of science.

In middle school, I had Biology, then "science" which was really mostly physics and chemistry related.

In high school I had Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Then in college, Physics I, Physics II, Chemistry, Statics, Dynamics, blah blah blah.
