Please tell me how you feel about this one in particular; a boy born with an odd bone structure in his back grows with a small hunch, seemingly normal. About age 17 he is walking down the road and something in him explodes, each bone in his back that was not supposed to be there, bursts from its spot, into a pair of feathered wings, and he shoots off over sky scrapers. He chooses not to hide his identity, and is constantly badgered by news teams and interviewers ,now his wings are only held in by his shirt, and they're larger, about a 18ft wingspan, under his shirt making the hunch he had appear much worse. Over time, the growing boy is persecuted to remove his wings by the US government, to which he firmly responds "no thank you" and ignores the advice. He is stopped on the road by cops ticketed for minor things; minimal speeding, jay walking, and it becomes clear, a simple no won;t be enough. He leaves state and remains unknown to the public, but he is still under massive speculation by the military. He is flying fairly low one day, and is shot at from above by a US army jet, and in panic flees. When confronted, the president says there is only one option, to remove the wings, to which the boy responds by fluttering his wings out and flying out the window of the oval office at top speeds. Once in the sky, the boy has reached thousands of feet in hight and hundreds of mph, and is attacked by 3 helicopters and an entire fleet of fighter jets, in which fighting ensues. The boy causes no harm to the jets, but is shot in the wing and escapes to New York, a bustling city, where hiding his identity will be nearly impossible.

I don't have any more definite ideas, but I actually dreamed all of this, there were no exact words, which is why I have no quotes, but this is the general storyling, no script, how do you like it?

That's certainly an interesting story, and from where you left it off, it could go in several different directions.

For one, you could turn it into a more religious story by having the boy continually hide for a while, but being unable to receive any comfort from anyone. Eventually, when all is lost, the boy could be rescued by other feathered people, being angels. They could tell him that he was an angel born on Earth as a test, and that by keeping his wings he proved that he was worthy of being an angel. Yadayada, be your own self, etc.

You could also have him turn out as a hero, or perhaps he proves that his wings are good in one way or another, or go on a darker route and have him keep on running...I don't know, it really depends on the length you would want something like this to be, as well as the audience you'd be presenting it to.

angst: I see what you're saying, I was thinking of continuing as well, possibly having the character make a plea to the world was an idea, and then go from there, I need animators and VAs, and I would also need people to judge a script, if I wanted to get this going, but I don't really know if it's that good an idea, so few people actually responded, probably because it's not in General Forum, but to the other person; wtf?

I like that a lot! As far as future plotlines go, there's always the possibility of finding other weirdos or winged folks.

You can see a little of my art on my profile, but if you'd like i can come up with some concept sketches.

Ugh, I wish I dreamed vividly, the last dream I had was about giant Captain Crunch Boxes (no, really). I think it would be interesting to explore the reason why the government is so pissed off at him, why the wings must go. Such as, he was learning to fly and hit someone important on accident, have a reason for the huge response. After that, to be a little different from the other replies, he could meet a regular human who takes him in and cares for him, and then their reaction when they heard what he did on the news. There are many ways you could go.

Also, does this remind anyone of "Angel" from the X-men?

Sounds like that part from X Men where they tried to remove his wings and he jumped out of the building and flew away. . .just saying.

Yeah, pretty similar to X-Men's "Angel" in a lot of ways. But then again, the story isn't really developed at this point, so it could be melded into a drastically different story.

Gonna go ahead and agree on the point that more development should be made on the government saying No-No to the kid's wings. Maybe instead of making him get rid of them, they might want to experiment on him -- See what led to him sprouting wings in the first place?

Overall, pretty cool idea.
