PC has gone too far!!

I live in an apartment complex and I must say, as much as I love this place, some of their policies are down right racist, but not in the ways you think.

A few nights ago, the Puerto Rican family who live a few doors down from me were BLARING some horrible music in spanish at 10pm... I normally wouldn't care except it was on a monday night when I had to be up the next morning at 6. I called the main buisness office to complain, they fed me some bs about that being part of their culture and they have to have some sensativity so there is nothing they can do...

After having a few choice words for that response I hung up. That night I was out on my balcony around 7pm playing Stratovarius- Higher We Go. Maybe slightly louder then usual, but not nearly as loud as they had been. Next morning I get a knock on my door telling me to tone it down or I would be fined. When I grilled them about what I was told on the phone, the asshole just shrugged. Since that incident, I have put in to be moved to a new apartment on the other side of the complex with more white people.

Why, you ask? Because aparently white people don't have any type of PC protecting them nor any type of culture that others need to be sensitive of. So if someone pisses me off and I complain to management, THEY CAN'T USE THAT EXCUSE!

None of those people are grouped into the white category in America. They are "Russian, North African, Australian, and European." White people refers to those who are not distinguishable

If they speak it should be easy. Russians you can tell apart based off of their appearance alone, the same with Europeans. I haven't met a North African, so I can't answer this one, and Australians have a different accent then Americans.

No I can not, but I can distinguish those ones from the rest of the White branch. Sort of how you can't distinguish Nicaraguans from El Salvadorians, but you can from Puerto Ricans.

Also, I think OP is taking it too far, if you have a problem with the Puerto Ricans playing loud music, you take it up with them. POLITELY.

Seriously, not being a dick works wonders in social settings, just knock on their door, say "I'm sorry to bother you, but your music is preventing me from getting to sleep, and I have to be at work in the morning, could you please turn it down?"

If they refuse THEN you take it up with the landlord.

Seriously, they were probably just having a good time, not trying to keep everyone awake.

They aren't. They were in the Puerto Rican category, nothing they said indicated that it was based off of color alone, it was cultural.

Because like us "white people" he was being generalized. I mean back in the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, the Irish were just as poorly treated as black people, but I don't see anyone concerned about offending Irish culture.
