One day I saw group of fellow Yankee fans panicking and were threatening suicide

I asked them what happened and one of them said "We can't take it anymore, the Yankees are losing already and I'm a fan since last year,"

"Really, you guys are pathetic, be happy with what you have" I said

"What are you talking about?"

"In 1965 when the team was purchased by the CBS, they were ran to the ground and sucked until the 1970s, in some years they would lose over 90 games each season"

"Bullshit, there's no year the Yankees have are worse than 2008, stop telling us scary stories"

Then they jumped off the Whitestone bridge

Why didn't they listen?

I don't get it either... But the Yankees are just a giant checkbook that goes around buying whoever has the best statistics. Just a bunch of purchased stars with no class.
