Piece, entitled. Everything I know. It will just about contain every deep and rational concept I have ever fathomed, every emotional aspect, to illustrate how these concepts can apply. It's looking quite strong, as an idea.

Literally. It will be. Everything I know, and an overall judgement, of how things work, based on my overall experience, and I want to know if anybodies ever went across this kind of endeavour before.

I have written something like this before, that was quite short, but the aim of this is that over the summer, it's going to be quite broad. It will contain all my notes from all my classes that I can apply to my experiences.

I think I can safely say that no, noone has ever tried to write down in a single piece every bit of information and opinion that they know/have. For the sole reason of it being likely impossible. That is a LOT of information even for the most airheaded of people, and structure and flow will be a major hurdle.

My suggestion would be to pick a single, narrow philosophical topic and write as much as you can about it. I think you'll begin to appreciate the gravity of the task you're talking about once you do that.

Tis better to sit in silence and be presumed a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

Well, i wouldn't say people haven't tried it. Descartes did it, but he comes to few conclusions anyway.

At any rate, being a Philosophy major, promise me one thing: Try to AT LEAST make it READABLE. Despite my love for the subject, it can be very dry.

I would suggest reading other philosophers, but only after you get your intial ideas down. Once you know what they are in the pure form of your original idea, then go searching to see if it's been done. And remember; just because it has been done doesn't mean you shouldn't look at it from another angle.

I wish you luck. If anything, it'll cause some debate.

Good luck anyway.

Yeah it's just we are usually quite a dead crew until somebody responds. I assumed I would get more responses here.

sounds like some interesting writing man, would like to read it when you are done. I found philosophical essays fun to read if they are written well. Most of the time they are really dry and not written for the common man. Just remember that when you are writing yours.
