Well I think the post maker basically thought that the immigrants are basically making America an extension of Mexico, that's my interpretation of his thoughts.

Basically, I do think that's what their doing because unlike most other immagrant groups which joined the "melting pot" of American culture, the Mexican immagrants stubbornly keep their native cultures by not learning English, not celebrating the holidays etc

Uh....lets see, their are about 8 million illegal immagrants in the nation, and that's just the illegal ones. Not to mention the fact that the number of Mexican immagrants is supposed to triple over the next few decades. This wouldn't be a concern accept that the number of these that are adopting America's culture is shrinking drastically, and the numbers that are keeping their native Cultures is rising drastically.

This explosion of Immagrants is driving African-Americans into the ground.

More and more immagrants are finding ways to remain Hispanic even as they become Americans.

Many predict that a Quebec-Style Latino dominance in States such as Texas and California, do you all know what that Quebec tried to become an independent Nation a while back? Don't you think the Hispanic population while try the same thing? Do you see how much they are changing America? 50% of them don't graduate from colledge! Do you have any idea what DIRE consequences this is going to have on the United States economy? Many Latino workers are willing to work for lower wages, and this may lead to a lower minimum wage (minimum wage should have been raised with inflation and economic growth) this will lead to lower wages all around.

Personally, I don't exactly like the changes this will have on America, in fact, this will turn America into a second Mexico.

Now do you see why I feel so threatened by this?

Dude, you just pointed out the reason why this is the land of opportunity. The hispanic people are coming to this country to make a better living, they do that by working just like you or me. True, there are Mexicans who are a part of Mainstream America, your friends are part of them. However, about 60% of Hispanic Americans speak Spanish.

You make a good argument about the minimum wage, but look at how much they are changing America culturally and politically. View some of the other points I raised.

but in all seriousness, you need to let go of your culture argument, the american culture is purely a mix of every single little spec of culturality in the world, and there is a name for it, its called Western Political Thought, this thought is comprised of Democracy, Freedom, Ethics, and Written Law. These four things stand tall above all things else and govern the way we do things here in america, Freedom is the main thing that gives every american the ability to worship and do as they please so long as they don't physically harm anyone, this Freedom is what allows you to bring up such a conversation as this, and this Freedom is what allows the Hispanic people to celebrate and speak as they please. the funniest part is the way that the government bends certain amendments in directions that they want. the first amendment says that the government can't do anything concerning religion and anyone can say what they want to, but we all know what happened to that.
The second amendment says that we have the right to bear arms, but arms back then meant a rifle for hunting and defense in times of war. Later, handguns and other firearms were made and defended by the second amendment, but at the same time, people cannot posses nuclear weapons and helicopter style machine guns, even though they have equal protection in the constitution as any other arms. Politicians put limits on one form of murder, but say that another is okay because of the second amendment. Pretty fucked up.

The Mexicans would want to take over California and Texas because Mexico has NO economic hope, they have a 50% unemployment rate, and the government is very corrupt in Mexico.

How would they do this? They can do it because they are coming into these states in such huge numbers, about 400,000 new immagrants a year. Secondly, relating to your point about Western ideals such as the "Mixture of many cultures." The Mexicans in their arrogance, are not willing to mix with other cultures, they are simply coming into America and taking the oppurtunity, but not embracing the American ideals such as the European immagrants did. They are therefore overtaking the TRUE Americans.

Actually, I don't hate the Hispanics (like the bastard Hitler hated the Jews and the "lesser humans") many Hispanic immagrants I admire, I admire their work ethic. I admire the Hispanics who come to America, learn English, SPEAK English, adopt the culture, and join the melting pot. But the number of immagrants doing this is shrinking. Ergo, they are not becoming Americans, but merely coming into the country for better economic success, unlike earlier immagrant groups who came to America for economic succes and also embraced the American lifestyle.

Exploitation? Blame the Corporations and the Mexican Government, the United States doesn't agree with the exploitation of Mexicans.

And we DO let them into the country, but they often travel back and forth between the U.S-Mexican border. They have a job in America, live in America, but they keep their old cultures.
