Kimbo Slice Cut From Ufc

After getting his ass knocked around last night by Matt Mitrione, Kimbo Slice, or should I say Kevin Ferguson, is being cut from the UFC. Link. The internet has failed IRL yet again. Back to beating up no names on youtube. Pretty surprised he got cut to be honest though. He fought pretty well I thought. Anyone else see the fights last night?

Kimbo is garbage. He's so bad and overrated that he single handedly brought down ElitexXC, and he doesn't deserve to be a UFC fighter now or ever.

Dude, Matt Mitrione weighed 30 some pounds more than Kimbo, and Kimbo STILL came out and threw him around like a rag doll for the first round. It's just his old man knees can't take more than 3 or 4 leg kicks before he becomes a turtle on his back. Kinda sad really. Wish he wouldn't have gotten into this stuff at such an old age.

Kimbo is better known and has a larger fan base than many more talented fighters. I think that's probably what he means by overrated.

Kimbo has pretty much no cartilage in his knees and you could see that he was about to fall over after a few leg kicks. Slice should be cut because he isn't fit for fighting in the UFC and Mitrione should be cut for not being able to knock him out after being in full mount for about a minute and a half.

Mitrione was toying with him if you couldn't tell. After every exchange he would stop, laugh, dodge a few punches, then hit him again. And when he was in the full mount using his ground and pound, he stopped, looked up at the ref smiling, and continued doing it. I think Mitrione was embarassing Kimbo.

That's his only serious weakness IMO is his knees. If someone wants to fight him and work his knees, of course they'll win. For the first round when Mitrione tried standin up with him, Kimbo picked him up and slammed him around like a little kid. It was shitty to face a 36 year old, 235 pound guy against a 30 year old 265 pound guy though. Kimbo is down for a war though. I would've liked to see him take on Mark Coleman or Dan Henderson, who both know what it's like to have shit knees and wouldn't utilize long distance leg kicks like that against each other. Just a brawl.

I think Mitrione did a piss poor job of strategy. He came out thinking oh, I'm gonna stand up with him, and got made into a rag doll for the first 3 minutes. So he did plan B and started doing leg kicks. Then when he had Kimbo in a position that even GSP could've finished him, he couldn't do it. He didn't have that drive to fight. When Shogun knocked out Machida, now that's what you fucking do when you get an opportunity.

Rewatch the fight. Besides the slam, Mitrione was toying with Kimbo in the standup, and then threw strategy out the window and embarassed the fuck out of him. I think he embarrassed himself more than anyone. He didn't win the Ultimate Fighter, and as such, he could get cut from the UFC the second Dana White feels like it. He's not in a position to "toy" with people. He needs to go in there and win fights as decisively and as convincingly as humanly possible. Didn't do that at all.

GSP never finishes fights. What he's capable of and what his strategy tells him to do are two very different things. The dude has like 3 career submissions because he never sacrifices position to attempt to finish a fight. He just uses his athleticsm to get the better of whoever he's fighting and doesn't make mistakes.

The Americana is hard to pull on people with thick ass arms. Since Kimbo wasn't tapping, Mitrione either had to break his arm, or let it up. The question is did Mitrione give it up because he couldn't break it, or because he was scared to? He seemed scared to open up on Kimbo at the end for sure. That dude is gonna miss out on huge opportunitys if he doesn't start being a little more ruthless. If he starts getting some big fights at heavyweight, please believe Frank Mir will break his shit off, and Cain Velasquez will pound your unconscious face until the ref throws him off.
