'Cult movies' isn't exactly a genre man, it's more of a sales term. It just means that the movie didn't have a large theatre selling but sold well afterwards on DVD or to a more dedicated following more often than not.
But my favorite cult movie would be Dazed and Confused. Great film.

Naked Lunch was seriously awesome. Cronenberg did an amazing job of interpreting the novel for the big screen.
From the maker's of South Park... Cannibal: The Musical was pretty funny if not a little poor in quality.
Also, you should check out Trainspotting... I don't think it's a "cult film" but it's worth seeing most definately. It's about these heroin addicts.
Also, I think the movie is called Candy. It's with Health Ledger. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, I think it's called Candy, and he plays a heroin addict and his girlfriend turns to whoring herself out so they can support their habits.

Cannibal the Musical Was amazing ( A horse is a horse of course!) Trainspotting was supposed to be really good, and candy s the movie your thinking of.
