Cigs + Strep Throat

I've had strep throat for the past two or three days, and throughout that time I've only had a few cigarettes. I'm hurting for smokes but I don't know if I should go out for one or not...

Will smoking a cigarette make my strep throat worse? I'm taking antibiotics and the doctor said I should be feeling fine soon, so probably tomorrow... Also, will smoking cigarettes make it take longer to heal???

My friend smoked with strep throat and she seemed fine. I don't think it will make it worse but I don't know I've never had it before. :'c

I'm at the point in my smoking where I can't go without cigarettes; not even when I'm sick. I know it sounds bitchy but menthols actually soothe the pain + give you the nicotine when you're sick/have a soar throat.

That's what I've been told, unfortunately I don't have menthols.

The only advice I can give you is to drink something (water) before you smoke so your throat is nice and lubricated.

You shouldn't take drugs when you're sick, unless they're used in the acceleration of the healing process. I know it's hard, but you can wait a few days for a smoke.

idk if this is true but aren't there minty cigs or something? Maybe those wont be so rough on your throat, and possibly feel like vicks and sooth it a little.

Well I had a smoke, glass of water before and after... Doesn't hurt any more than it already did. In fact my throat seems to be feeling a tad better.

From what I understand, frequently smoking while sick with such a thing can slow down the recovery process by a few days.
I stick to Weed, but noticed similar problems when sickness occurs and I still decide to smoke.

If anything, It will make your throat hurt more. And it's just generally not good to smoke period. So smoking while your sick is bound to be worse.

its like i can tell when im going to be sick like 24-48 hours before i actually feel like total shit. cigs start tasting like complete shit rather than just shit, but i cant stop so i end up smoking while im sick. i get over it pretty quick though/rarely ever sick

I have mono right now, which is a lot like strep, and I tried smoking. Terrible idea. I felt like i was breathing sandpaper.
