Have you ever been lying in bed, not fully asleep when you hear a loud noise that isn't there but wakes you up? Or have you ever qoken up in bed to a sudden jerk of your body?

Happens to me a lot. I'll be almost asleep and it feels like something shocks my entire body. Whenever it happens there's also a sound like someone touched an electric fence for half a second.

Yes. It scares me. Sometimes when I wake up from the first thing, I think something scary is hiding where I can't see it. When I wake up from the second thing, sometimes I feel a "touch" from an invisible hand.
fookin' scary.

hypnic jerks are related to the REM phase of sleep. I think it has to do with your heart rate skipping a beat when your body falls asleep after your mind does.

Yeah that's happened to me before. I've also had the feeling I was being pulled out of my bed but when I woke up I was in the same spot. It seems the brain likes to do weird things while we sleep sometimes.

One time I was sick so I brought up a glass of water with me. In the middle of the night, I get hunched up on my back and slowly roll off of my bed. I don't have a table near my bed, so I put my glass on the floor. The glass broke when I landed on top of it, but I didn't get cut because I was wrapped in my blanket. I was still soaked, though.

Yep. it's quite annoying because my eyes are shut and i'm about to slip off into dreamy-dreamland when OH MY GOD i get this image in my head of getting hit by a bus.
Have you ever been asleep, but like awake? like you can hear everyone talking but you're asleep?
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?

This might explain what I do. I don't think I'm actually asleep though. I usually listen to my ipod for hours and then randomly my leg or other body part jerks all of the sudden.

It has to do with not having not enough sleep and your body wanting to go into rem before anything else. Normally you don't go into REM sleep until a couple hours after you fall asleep, its the part that charges your brain.

Well, the opposite of that. I "fall asleep" somewhat, and shit goes down. I am conscious, but i can't move and i start to panic and struggle to get up and move...
Wtf?

It's called sleep paralysis. You start sleeping and something wakes your brain up but your body is still asleep.

Yes I've woken up to those sudden jerks. Do they make you feel like you're falling off your bed cause I have those kinds.

Happens to me a lot. Like, when I'm just barely conscious, but actually starting to dream, I dream that I'm about to fall flat on my face, and just when my face is supposed to hit the dream ground, I wake up with one of those jolts.

Yeah it happens. But a year or so ago now i sleepwalked which was odd because i've nether sleepwalked before. Anyway i walked out my room and to the top of the stairs and i woke up suddenly with a jerk like you mentioned and fell forward down the stairs. I managed to grab the railings but it still hurt like heck.
Didn't brake anything and didn't even wake the family up.

Sometimes when I used to take these pills to make me drowzy, I would be falling asleep and start to dream when I was still half-asleep, and then something would happen in the dream that would jolt me awake. I remember one where I was on a field and a soccer ball flew at my face, and another where a dragonfly stung me somehow lol. And these dreams only lasted maybe 10 seconds before the weird thing happened that woke me up. Then when I realize it's a dream I'd calm down and fall asleep.
The trick is to use the drugs once to get there, and maybe spend the next ten years trying to get back there without the drug.
