But why? Why'd he do that?
Its really fast and that.
If you like, go into space. Like you know space and that. Where them planets is
you know like
up there
just
knocking about
you can go really fast like
like
the speed of light and that
but you cant do it on Earth
'cause
like
the roads are too short
and you'd like crash
because you'd be going too fast to turn.
Since nothing can travel at the speed of light except light energy. Maybe when we create some really advanced technology we can actually test this out though.

Nothing can travel at the speed of light save light.
Theory is that time will stop for said object if that happens, and, I suppose, would probably go backwards if you went faster than it. It is impossible though, as far as we know.
Song of the Firefly is on Steam Greenlight and Kickstarter. Give them a look and support the project!

Except a quanta of energy...

He did it out of pity. If you were to reach the speed of light, between the inertia, perception and everything else... you'd wish you were dead.
Even if you got close to the speed of light, you hit a wall or whatever... the amount of energy released, that would be like a nuclear bomb going off.

Light is energy, effectively, therefore my point stands.

I also heard when an objest travels at the speed of light its mass increase's and/or/then decreases so it would be pointless because it would just fuck us up.
Death cures a fool

Your mom is energy, therefore my point stands.
No. Nothing can be accelerated to the speed of light except for light. It would require an infinite amount of energy to make something go the speed of light.

You only have to go 88 miles per hour to time travel. I suggest you get your facts straight.
For I am and forever shall be... a master ruseman.
Matter cannot move at the speed of light, but it can travel faster than light. Some day science will be sophisticated enough to replicate an anomaly in quantum time; FTL works by moving time and space AROUND the object traveling, instead of projecting the object through time and space.
Think of it like having a map, and folding in the bit of ocean between North America and Europe so that they both are touching eachother.
Sounds impossible, but hey... Cavemen wouldn't have ever dreamed of things like computers right?

Actually there was this guy living in the 15th century and he had once said:
"In the future chariots will ride on their own, and men will walk on the moon"
might find this article interesting.

..
maybe..
When objects accelerate they increase in mass, as it's speed approaches that of light the mass becomes infinite and the object can no longer accelerate. That is why we cannot travel faster than the speed of light.
