Converting videos? 2010-04-29 19:14:46 Reply

I want to convert some of the documentaries I bought and other things so I can play them on my XBox 360. Well, 360's only play .wmv(well, every video type but the ones I'm using at least). Anyone know where I can convert them ONLINE? No downloads please.

Or, if someone thinks they could help me that would be helpful too.

GOOD LUCK WITH THIS. Most video converter's are usually viruses, and they are never on a website. You will most likely have to download dis. And if you do download. That thing will your fuck computers's ass .

There are programs you can download to covert it, but that is it. i know the newest version a realplayer comes with a converter.

My opinions are so useless, I don't even listen to them.

Zamzar was the first one I tried. It's normally reliable, but for some reason it wouldn't even pick up the videos I uploaded. It may be my computer that's the problem though.

They're .avi files.

I have a few documentaries(around 8 I believe) and a couple MST3K episodes.

I honestly can't download anything. I can't explain myself too much, just that I use my schools library's computer and can only do so much.

Maybe your sig should say "Read the post before posting in the thread trying to be a smartasss."

Seriously, I said I needed it to be in .wmv format and that site you linked me to didn't support it.

Also, all of those sites were for ripping youtube videos, except zamzar which I already said wasn't working for me.

You fail at being a smartass.

Stop being so ignorant.

At least he found you a site, unlike anyone else (yourself included) in this topic.

Anyway, when it comes to converting video, online isn't really a very good bet, especially if you plan to play these on your 360 / Tv Screen ~ The audio is going to be terrible and the video will almost definitely lower in quality.

As for the actual conversion process online, you're definitely going to be waiting around an hour or a few while it uploads, converts, and then downloads. Even then, you have no promise in quality.

Your best bet is to use software like Windows Movie Maker (Yeah, again shit quality unless you render it correctly) and import your .avi (actually, I'm unsure WMM supports .avi..); but anyway, if you download another video production software, there are free ones out there that are available for free. Where the process would initially be to import your media as a new project and render it as a .wmv.

Alternatively, if you have wireless internet, you can stream your media directly from your PC to your Xbox, no conversion necessary and I *think* multi file types are supported.

I know this is a download, but today is your lucky day.

http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/sothink-
video-converter/

Only 6 hours left on it, so if you need it, get it.

Oh, and there are some things you need to know if you download it.

No free technical support
No free upgrades to future versions
Strictly personal usage

But, it still works like a charm.

Use Adobe Flash!

That WILL DEFINITELY work for AVI export. Just get the free trial and do it.

Actually, I have been looking. The ones I have found myself so far can only convert videos up to around 100 mb, and my videos are larger than that, at least some are.

He was clearly trying to be a smartass, a lot of people do that.

Since it seems to be he's calmed down though, I think things will be fine. ;)
