For now I need mainly art tips on creating a character. In this case the heroine.
I've included my title screen to show my art style and would love tips on creating a character.
If this is the wrong place please navigate me in the right direction.
Forgot to add that it will be a 2d side scroller with 3d parallax effects. So again, any tips would be appreciated.
First off, you should think out exactly who your character is.
There's many ways to do that, but a very simple way is to fill out a form .
You also have to decide what type your character is (strong brainless guy, gun slinger, badass superhero?) and figure what his stats are.
Strong brainless guy could be a really slow runner and attacker, but with strong attack power.
You could also make the colorsof the character have a reason/symbolic meaning.
Thanks for those links, other than colours I've got a character in mind. A Fast female runner with little care for the world as she's been locked away from it, far too curious and when an opportunity arises she will take it no matter the consequences, over zealous, courageous, shy when in conversation, just wants a way out of a normal life.
The only thing I have decided on for colours is pale skin, ginger and green eyes. She's a trousers girl too.
start off with a base body design, and an initial idea, then sketch out different ideas and concepts for the outfit and character in a few thumnail sketches, experiment with different ideas and mix and match what looks best, then decide on which bits you like best and do a proper version/character sheet, or just use that in your animation
hope that helped/made sense, thats just how i work with designs
