Well, I just hope everything goes well and the 300MBps bandwidth will keep up for a long time, wich will give you guys more time to look for a 400MBps one. I would like to know, if anyone knows, HOW or WHERE to search for the top 500 popular websites of the net. I would like to know if Newgrounds is in it ! I heard it WAS in there ... Even Tom said it I think, or someone ...
Anyways, good luck with Newgrounds.
Hope Alien Hominid programming is going well.
Newgrounds for ever ! :)

There are a number of sites that cater to these types of stats. Alexa.com is one of them.

hey newgrounds is randed 792nd. pretty cool.

nice link liljim, and its nice to see newgrounds continue to grow. NG's performance lately has been flawless (as far as i can tell). i can't remember the last time i had an error anywhere on the site besides one of those shared ip errors.

i've noticed wade hasn't been thanked for anything even though he does help maintain the site so thanks to wade for putting up with alot of bullshit.

keep up the good work everyone.

Thanks a lot man.
I was really looking forward for a link of that type. Maybe I didn't really search like a mad man but I couldn't find it. Thanks again.
The guy said that the traffic rank was 792.
It now is 800.
That's one nasty precision they've got there ! looks like it gets updated every minute ! ( I haven't read the whole page yet).

well its ranked 16th under the games category. its not that surprising that ng isn't that high up since alot of other sites are enourmous corporations with plenty of money to spend on advertising as well as servers and bandwidth. relatively ng is the little guy.

It's amazing how it's possible. I mean, I can't imagine websites that are "better" than NG, with more traffic or whatever you know ... I mean ... I can't think of them ! I'm going to loop for top 1 lol.

Yeah maybe it is. Anyways, you find all sorts of CRAZY stuff:
Site Stats for newgrounds.com:
Speed: Very Slow (95% of sites are faster), Avg Load Time: 5.8

SLOW ? I mean ... I'm like wtf ? This website isn't THAT slow, I've seen worse. Hell ...

Right. Not only that, but a lot of the sites that are high up on the list are sites like Yahoo!, Google, and even adservers that are hit by many smaller ranking sites.

The thing to keep in mind with Alexa is that they monitor site traffic based upon users who have some software from Alexa installed on their machines which tracks the users' movements. So it's only an indication, the stats shouldn't be taken as gospel.

There are other sites that also monitor site traffic. I forget exactly which, but they tend to expect a fee, if I remember correctly.

At 3/18/04 11:39 AM, TomFulp wrote: As of yesterday, Newgrounds is now running with 13 webservers - that's the most we've ever had running at the same time! We have two more that are still being serviced before they can be put back into rotation, bringing the grand total to 15.

Our bandwidth graph is really starting to reach its 300mbps peak now that we have the new servers in place. Once we add a few more, it will probably be time to upgrade to 400mbps! That's some insane bandwidth! We are already looking into some really expensive file serving solutions to keep up with growth. Hopefully our current fileserver will hold out a bit longer, though.

o yeh. seems like good times for ng. its good to c that the bandwidth is improving and is going to be upgraded soon! now that should get rid of the stuff ups in 'peak hours'. so, what other cool 'upgrades' have u got planed for the site tom?? im sure alot of pplz would like ta know!
