NG Upgrades...

As of yesterday, Newgrounds is now running with 13 webservers - that's the most we've ever had running at the same time! We have two more that are still being serviced before they can be put back into rotation, bringing the grand total to 15.

We are also experimenting with a new kernel that should result in better NFS performance... Don't ask me exactly what that means...

Our bandwidth graph is really starting to reach its 300mbps peak now that we have the new servers in place. Once we add a few more, it will probably be time to upgrade to 400mbps! That's some insane bandwidth! We are already looking into some really expensive file serving solutions to keep up with growth. Hopefully our current fileserver will hold out a bit longer, though.

Damn i still with there was a page where we could see stuff like that and total amount of people viewing ng every day and other stuff like that, would be nice for the statistics page.

Why don't you just upgrade to 500mbps and save your self some time? =P

Is all that bandwith really necessary? Sure, at about 10:00pm, Newgrounds is impossible to access because everyone in America is trying to get on, but there's never any problems in the evening in Britain for access. Still, Newgrounds is ever-growing, we might need it soon.

Hmmm ... everyone seems to be congratulating Tom. Well, since that base is more than covered, I am going to be all different and crap and thank Jim for all his hard work in getting this place to run smoothly, despite hiccups like the IdiotXXX fiasco, constant upgrades, alllll the other stuff that crashes that we never even notice, and, most of all, listening to us whine, bitch, and moan, without succumbing to the urge to bite anyone's head off.
