…Lives somewhere in Rhea County, Tennessee. (Note: Forgive me for the Fox News link, it’s the only one I could find that had an article on the story).

Ahh thinking how stupid it is to be sexist, racist or whatever you want to look at it. We are all the same species with the same goal, to live life. Personally, I think that place is retarded because they are ignorant to a lot of facts and believe blindly into the bible.

Alright, place your bets. What will be the first state to ban homosexuality outright?

That will never happen. Even if the fight for gay marriage falls through, homosexuality will never be fully banned outright.

you can't say that with any certainty, Dag. There IS such a thing as a conservative revival. The pendulum is due for a swing, and with the increasing power of the shadow government (run by the christian right and their big industry buddies) let nothing in the coming years suprise you

Riiiiiiiiiight. And I'm sure the pyramid-worshiping Illuminati is planning on also sending in evil lizard aliens from Mars to start an intergalactic war and overrun the planet by polluting our gene pool.
Feh, conspiracy theorists...

Perhaps, but that's about the only conspiracy theory I believe (the plot to kill Kennedy) and that's because it was so poorly covered-up. Single Magic Bullet Theory my ass!

I hope you're right. I hope America swings to the left, and I hope they get more liberal, however, with 9/11, I think many are moving to the right, not left.

Don't be sarcastic, you fool! We already have TWO major xeno entities living on earth; Kurt Cobain and Batman, both are the necrontyr C'tan! Not to mention the fact that Micheal Moore and Rush Limbeage are both ringleaders of a genestealer infestation on both the right and left wing political parties!
We must cleanse the human race! Exterminaus in the name of his holy soul on Terra!

Nooooo they are denying people a lifestyle choice because people don't agree with it. Therefore their freedom to be gay has been removed making America less free.

Well... Yeah, kinda. They call themselves the "Land of the Free" and don't even allow gay marriage...

Maybe so, but don't they these people also have the choice to run their community in anyway they see fit?
Just playing Devil's Advocate here. Not like I agree with any of this.

Texas had a ban on sodomy, think it was recently lifted when someone actually got charged with it, will look for the link later and post if if you want.

Found the links.

So the ban on being Gay in a state has already happened, happened for 17 years, and fortunately it was overturned. The Supreme Courts ruling will probally ovetturn anything that TN does if they decide not to recognize Gay marriages, gay unions, or anything like that in TN if this stuff gets ruled on on a Federal level.

Not at all. Well, yeah. It's kinda odd, but the oddest thing is someone banned homosexualiy. It's like benning black people. It just doesn't work.

I was actually reading the law last night, sodomy was allowed for heterosexuals in 1978 I think but homosexual activities were still banned. I'm surprised the laws made it as long as they did but thats probally because no one tried to enforce them into last year and that started a huge uproar, rightfully so.

actually, a lot of states have laws that dictate that how not to have sex. most states don't enforce them, though, since it's kinda ridiculous. but, in most states, i believe, the laws still apply to heterosexuals as well.
by the way, great title for the thread. but i'm confused. in the opening paragraph the article talks about prosecution of homosexuals, but the article only talks about not recognizing civil unions. either way, it's funny. these people need to lighten up a bit.
oh, and, i would like to thank Jimmy Sween for his enlightening and inspirational affirmations. he makes me feel all warm-like inside.
