Rich = Important?

Just because you are rich does that make you important? Why should people with lots money have more pull? I dont think it should make them any better than everybody else. I mean just because youre rich doesn`t make you smart. How do you explain Paris Hilton and George Bush Jr? If you ask me those two shouldn`t be able to talk. I guess thats where daddys money gets you. What do you think?

Not everyone born into money earns it though, not in their lifetime when they waste the worth their parents earnt.

Though money always helps, especially in this world where the poor can't get a break. Money talks and does make one SEEM a more important person.

Rich people spend more money. If a rich person wants to go to a club, he's going to buy people drinks. He should be allowed in that club over somebody who can barely afford a drink for himself, simply looking to get laid.

As for money- importance, I think people make money because they are important.

Rich people are more important. It's not an opinion matter, really, it's what our society values and pays attention to, and all of the aspects of our lives that the rich touch/control. Regardless of what you or I want or what the world should be like, money is power. Who has more impact on your life, the manager of your local gas station or the CEO's of big oil companies? The answer is the CEO. They owner of your local bank, or the president of any large bank corporation of your choosing? It's the later. Does the world care more about your neighbor's relationship problems, or that of a celebrity? The celebrity.

People that have the most money tend to be the most powerful, because they can always hire the best lawyers who will be sure to distort anything they have done wrong. People with money are able to use bribes to get others to do whatever they want. It in no way means they are the most intelligent people, as you just made yourself clear with examples.
