But seriously, having over 2000 lines on the timeline is not very mod-able.
This isn't a good base to start from, its heavily cluttered with codes everywhere.

I don't know if a new user would be able to use it, but I doubt anyone would want to mod this. Either that or you need heavy documentation.

Also AS2 is getting really old these days so any decent/updated user wouldn't even bother using a timeline based "engine".

TLDR:
AS2 is slow, trying to mod this would turn into a clusterfuck.

You should see the new AS3.0 Version 956 lines of code very smooth and alot of other features that a super kick arse.

The engine's quite nice but really it needs to be class based.

I haven't been much involved with any open source project, but pure logic tells me that they need to be more thought out to work. You can't just say "make it better", you need to have a general idea about how you want the structure of the engine to be so that people wont give you all these random snippets of code which will soon not be able to work together at all. Using OOP is an absolute MUST for any serious OS project, and it should already be far along into the process before allowing outsiders to join in. Using a hosting service such as Google Code is also recommended.

Please note that I'm not saying every OS project needs to be perfect, but you seem to represent an actual company and implying that this is something that advanced coders will make use of. It just doesn't seem like the execution match the goals, by far.

I didn't code this engine we just decided to release it for outsiders to tinker with, were not really focused on this at the moment so we just let it go the main coder is working on a new AS3.0 Version.

Seriously, 2000 lines of code? That sounds like plenty, already. Does it have a physics engine that allows ragdoll deaths?
