why wouldnt it? Because someone is carrying a gun that day they will step out of character and start shooting people wildly? Are the people doing the violence still going to be the same ones who were always doing it?

Well, it removes the training portion too. There is people out there that think since they own it, they know how to use it. This could cause problems.

A lot of states don't require you to have a CCW permit to open carry, just a FFL.

Somehow, I think you're full of shit or heard this from The Onion. Even in the most "Gun Friendly Places", you still need to have a concealed carry licence/permit.
