4.07 / 5.00 13,902 ViewsFor those of you who haven't heard, 20th Century Fox is developing a live action movie adaptation of the anime Cowboy Bebop. It is probably going to be terrible for these reasons:
1. Keanu Reeves as Spike Spiegel
Yep, Keanu Reeves is for some reason in this movie. He typically sucks at showing any emotion in movies, and saying "Woah" is not an emotion.
2. Screenplay written by Peter Craig.
This guy who just happens to be the son of Sally Field (that's a fun fact, by the way) has only written two other movies before: The upcoming "Bad Boys III" and the also upcoming "The Town," which he wrote with... Ben Affleck. Ewww.
There isn't really a lot of information on it yet, so it's hard to actually give a fair judgement of how it's going to be. Anyway, what do you guys think?

It dosen't matter who is in it, what matters is that it's live action.
So Dragonball wasn't enough for them to fuck up? Now they're going for cowboy bebop? I have a feeling that Fox is gonna target and rape every anime/manga I ever loved...
Cheating? I like to call it strategic opportunity.

Yeah, but atleast M'night Shamalumal'm isn't directing this one. Well actually, they haven't announced who is directing it yet...
Gulp.

OH LORD NO! Not Cowboy Bebop! Damnit, what next, Trigun, or Inuyasha? I hope not deathnote.(i hated deathnote.) Fuck what are we going to do!?
live action Gundam would= fail on a molecular level
A spear in your chest and a fire in your ass. I only play as Scorpion in MK games, because I'm that much of a fanboy.
well it could be worse, i mean Uwe Bowl ain“t directing it.

You know who else sucks at showing emotion?
Spike Spiegel.

You know, you've got a point there. I mean, maybe they had this in mind when chose him.

We should probably wait until we see a trailer of the movie, before we jump head-first into bashing it to no end. That said, I don't believe that CB movie will fare much better than Dragon Ball Evolution.
The next anime possibly on 20th Century Fox's crosshairs would be either Lucky Star or Code Geass IMO. And if the latter is true, may Lelouch have mercy on their anime-ruining, money-grubbing souls, because I sure as hell won't.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

Lol there already are two Death Note movies in Japan

Sure why not,
I'm pretty sure this is how the trailer would sound like,
After being accused of a crime he didn't commit, Pikachu (Christian Bale) must find out who killed his wife with the assitance of Ash (Sam Worthington), Brock (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), and Misty (Owen Wilson) in a epic adventure directed by the Wayans Bros.
On no a bear!
FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Live action ruins good anime.

Just giving you heads up of the future live action pokemon movie.
You know Hollywood is bound to do it some day.
On no a bear!
I actually have the original movie xD.
got it back in 05 I think maybe 04
I don't think they would be so indecent as to totally mess it up.
I don't even enjoy Anime/Manga that much. So forgive me for saying, But stop blaming Fox for making it bad. Blame them for attempting. All Anime/Manga is 99% percent un-filmable in live-action. The plots and character design and clothing just does not transfer well to reality. If anybody attempted it would suck.
Im still waiting for my Ghost in the Shell, Evangelion and Akira live actions.. Fuck.

Hollywood typically views Anime as a pot of cash worth dipping into every now and then.

Yeah, but shouldn't they learn from the fact that there has never really been a successful live-action movie based on an anime?
Wait, has there? I can't think of any at least.

You are now picturing live-action adaptations of Fullmetal Alchemist and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I disagree. I actually thought of a cowboy bebop live action years ago with keanu reeves as spike. I also imagined him in a live action for metal gear solid as snake if he buffed up, grew a beard, and had a gruffer voice.
That sucks, Cowboy Bebop is one of my favorites.
Its the first anime that I was ever exposed to. <3

I fucking called it. Now we're going to get a third Men in Black movie somehow. You mark my words.
