"I have sex with this guy"that's a stereotype
People have sexual appetites
If you are with a guy who is known to be your boyfriend what else are they supposed to think?
You are together for stimulating conversation?
Gays being less sexual than straight people is a stereotype.

Elaborate.
Religion, and more specifically religious texts, provide no moral basis unless you take them literally. If you take the bible literally (if that were even possible considering its numerous contradictions, but whatever), you are by no means a moral person in this day and age. If you interpret the bible to fit the morals and beliefs you already have, you didn't get your morals and beliefs from the bible. You got them from elsewhere.
Religion still teaches moral basis regardless to interpretation. Interpretation determines devotion and zealotry. Why would morals change simply due to modernizing?
People use all kinds of things to manipulate others. Religion is just one of those things.
I wasn't using that to talk about general manipulation, I was specifically talking about hypocrisy and ignorance.
Firstly, religion and spirituality are not the same thing.
Derp, i was never implying they were the same.
:Religion implies a specific set of beliefs, practices and rules, while spirituality is a lot broader than that.
Religion inspires spirituality and vice versa. Religion is spirituality conjoined, hive-mind-like.
Secondly, yes. Because "right" and "wrong" are both purely human concepts, and can always be traced back to basic instincts, from before organisms even had the capacity to dream up the idea of gods/religions.
I think not. Values and such are inspired from environmental interference, thus for them to be created and adopted, one has to experience or observe something to inspire such character development. At the extreme, a human born from nothing in a world of nothing wouldn't adapt the traditional set of right and wrong. Right and wrong are purely subjective and decided by the owner of the values.
BUT, this post is not in topic with the thread.
If one is inclined to be gay, in a faith that condemns gay, isn't that the problem there? Both parties clash, the gay is not the perfect christian, and the religion is not the right home for the individual.

Hey buddy, morality is not limited to religion or anything. Its environment based. Observed, learned, adopted. That argument is invalid against my argument primarily because I ain't stressing that christ makes morality, I am saying it heavily influences shit like that.

But is religion in its theory all that bad?
Most of the case, it promotes good morals and values, such as goodwill and alms.
Corruption exists due to the human aspect of religion, smart people using it to manipulate.
If religion and spirituality never existed, do you honestly think you would have you're predetermined set of right and wrong?
I am sure it won't die for a long time. What do you mean as in theory believing that there is a higher power yet to be proven. God was the answer to what can't be explained IE Greek religion "Mythology" Is it really promoting good morals by shunning the gays?
20:13 If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death.
As stated in the bible so why would any gay man or woman go to church and most of them don't..
This quote from the bible is quiet funny
Exodus 35:2
For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.

Pun intended, I hope!
I had some Christians come up to my old school and preach at me about how I was going to go to hell and was an abomination etc etc, actually into my face when I told them to stop preaching this shit at a school. They are retards.
A choir boy being gay is actually a good thing it kind of shows as a bridge in the gap between gays and christians, they should have been accepting of it to make the 2 closer together but instead they threw it away. Thats why they are retards.

But isn't combining the too making it even more of a hypocritical mess? Christianity is already hypocritical, do you think adding the abomination will help?

Let whoever is without sin cast the first stone. Who the FUCK are they to kick someone out of the church for being gay? It's not like he stood up in church and shouted "FUCK GOD!!!", all he did was be gay. He didn't choose to. Besides, it's not like they're fucking in the church, they're there to pray just like everyone else.

yeah yeah tell em your gay
Well the bible is clearly against same sex relationships. Lucky I don't have to care what the bible says, any more than I need to care what the Qu'ran, the Icelandic Sagas or Mao's red book say.
So yeah, the couple are fighting an uphill battle, and while I do want to see acceptance come around, it's not the church's job: The church's job is to dissapear, and let the new times roll in.
I'd refuse to go if I were you. Maybe even tell off the church and be a total asshole to get a message across.
I know a woman who got kicked out of her chuch because she is dating a man. She is a divoree and it is frowned upon for her to be with another man now.
So no offense I can't feel too sorry for the gay guy when regular straight people are still getting discriminated against too.
Just the way they are.
this is why i hate christians, they shun people because of their personal beliefs..

This kind of crap happens outside of america?

Everyone gets discriminated against, particularly when religion gets involved. Its just that some get it more than others.
