Don't Escape
I'm a werewolf and it's a full moon. I have to find a way to prevent myself from escaping.

Did you play Ragnarok Online? Do you like that game?

My name is Mandie Orson LeScum or MOLS for short. It's my pen name not my real name.
I'm 21, that's my real age.
I've been drawing for a year. Just one year.
I take a lot of my style from
Shane Glines
Derek Yaniger
Josh "Shag" Agle
Genndy Tartakovsky
Craig McCracken
This is what my art looked like at the same time last year:

(that's just terrible...the moral of the story is DON'T STOP PRACTICING, READ GOOD ART BOOKS AND TAKE CRITICISM AND YOU WILL GET BETTER)
Anyway
I draw only with a trackpad in photoshop 7 but sometimes I use the tablet that NG gave me for Christmas last year <3

I would love some criticism, comments, opinions, questions, etc.
I have trouble with hands and feet- at least keeping them the same shape. I often copy/paste arms to make it perfect but I don't really like cheating like that.
My other problem is drawing guys.

You know for only drawing a year, I'd say you're pretty fantastic. Reading art books help, you say?
Humm... Any good ones you could recommend to a fellow?

That was my first experience with a mind-fuck. Personally, I love re-watching that scene just because it's so twisted and batshit insane.
^ indeed. o3o

I don't know why but it did not leave me with the same effect on my mind like some of the other's here but it still looks neat though.
I just left a review then and I think I'll copy the parts about Cake's art in general here as well...
You've got a very design like style which seems like it would work well on posters or in magazines and such. But I think you should try and take the style in a new direction, learn some new styles or just try something a bit different to what you usually do. I don't really see how much more you could improve with this style... perhaps try making a pic in a similar style but with heaps of detail or perhaps try doing this style but making things more smooth and making things slightly more realistic, it could turn out purdy good....

But I see where you are getting at on the example about the Retro style, that there's not a whole lot direction to keep things interesting which be taken but it kind of goes the same way no matter what style.
...I wasn't gonna post it on all of her art pieces, I just posted it on her topless self portrait and then thought i should include it here to so she's more likely to see it. Yea it kind of does go the same way with all styles.
Because her style is so simplistic and the poportions and positioning of everything is pretty much perfect it'd be hard to improve on it much. You need to make sure your always improving when you do things. If she keeps on doing what she usually does it'll be good but she wont be learning/improving as much as she could be and her things would probably be less interesting because we've all seen her do the style many times. Basically I think it would be more interesting/ benefitial if you tried something slightly or extremely different Cake.
i think i said too much... :S
I've tried tons of different styles

???????
Unless you're suggesting something like realism, anime, etc. If that's the case....there are specific reason's I don't do that:
I either suck at it or hate it.
I practice it anyway....but still. If it's not my best it doesn't go public.
(OR...it becomes stock art on sxc.hu, lol)
I appreciate the critique but I do have a lot of growing to do with toon styles. I need to practice drawing hands, objects, men and old people.

Looks awesome. I like how you've drawn the character but in your style. Why did you decide to change the facial expression?
