After someone mocked them on a different board I go to, I whipped up a pic of all the starter's silhouettes... they're pretty standard.

I liked that the sinnoh final evolutions were interesting typing (especially empoleon which was just hardcore), so I'd like to see a repeat of that.

This. I want my sequel to Gale of Darkness.

In Pokemon Battle Revolution, they got down animations of ALL 493 Pokemon. Now all they need to do is write a story, and then half the game is made for them.

That doesn't quite work, because dark doesn't just resist psychic, it isn't effected by it.

Rock/Fighting/Flying is the only other one that works the same as grass/fire/water, I think.

At first I raged from how bad the new starters look but after looking around, they appear to be fake which is a relief because if they were actually some of the new Pokemon, I dread to think what the rest would look like. To me, they're only real if Nintendo say they are and I'm sure they're not, so here's for a grass bunny and not a water pig.

I knew it! I just checked serebii and that picture wasn't there. It would have been silly if the newgrounds sub-forum got the news before serebii...

Serebii and Bulbapedia have nothing on those starters, so that image is probably fake. Supposed to be revealed on Saturday.

Hopefully these starters won't look so bad with the full image shown. I'm thinking that if the pig/rabbit/donkey thing is the water starter I'll have to stray from my tradition of always choosing water and pick the beaver/chipmunk thingy.

Looks like theyve updated the battle animation to 3d now.Unless they did that with HG/SS too.I wouldnt know because my DS Broke...

It's not 3D, you just see the whole Pokemon, not just the back of it's head. They showed it a while ago, around the time they released that video of how the 3D works.

Depends on who the first Gym Leader is, really. If they're going to have a Rock or Ground-type person leading off, I'll go Water, since the Grass-types have always proved themselves completely useless, and since they're all going to look way better when they evolve. The only way I'm picking Grass is if Leader #1 is Water. Admittedly they look a bit stupid in their current forms, too much "cute" and not enough "cool" (Charmander and Squirtle were perfect balances of the two concepts), but all the others have evolved better, so the same can be expected of these three.

I think she's cute. Well, better than Lyra, at least: I don't care that Lyra replaced Kris, but her overly-poofy hat gives the image that she's hiding a Voltorb on her head to commit suicide by Explosion if she loses. Better get used to the new one: if things go the way they did in Gen3 and Gen4, she's going to be Ash's new traveling companion.

Fuck off, Bulbasaur was ace, so was Turtwig. Treeko was okay, but Chikorita was shit, yeah. I never pick by gym leader, I just pick whoever looks coolest.

I think I'll end up using both the fire and grass starters in this. I like both, so I'll pick one and trade for the other. Grab a Magikarp and use Gyarados for a water type if nothing better shows up.
