In the future, do they get people claiming to be from further in the future? One theory of time travel states that it will only be possible to travel as far back as the point from which we first discover and implement a way to time travel. IE: you can only go as far back as the first time port built to receive you.
If your future is comfortable with time travel, and presumably, the only limit to human understanding is our continued survival, and there are no paradoxes since each time exists in a separate dimension from the others (time is a huge multiverse with each decision spawning new dimensions where each possible ramification from each possible option is played out); people from YOUR future must have begun contacting your people. Since each visit should impart vast knowledge about future technological breakthroughs... there really shouldn't be much out of the grasp of your people. Basically, human progress, if graphed, should have a slope approaching the undefinable.
