Why does it seem like 90% of old people (I'll leave it pretty open to interpretation) seem like they were in a coma between like 1982-1999?

Every old person I meet seems just has stories of punch-card machines and how alienated they are by modern computers. How the fuck does this happen? I don't think it will happen to us in like 50 years, but it's a scary thought.

Like robots... wouldn't it suck to be as confused with robots in the future when they're common household things as our old people are the computer?

i would think that we are.. (the age group of people at ages. -15 to +20) are made to be able to understands and get into something far faster then the generation of elderly that we now have. dont forget that they grew up in a world that their fathers and mothers were coming from wars, and that they did not have communication devises like we do today..
we learned at a young age to interpret new and improved things as good. while back when my dad was a child. a piece of equipment was so hardcore that if it did not last for 100 years it would be a miracle.. (while today we will go through a computer .. in ... a few years.) and we get something better and new)
or generation was born in the idea of get the new shit now. use it for how hard you can use it and then upgrade. while my fathers generation was put in a time that.. you better use the shit we got, even if it is broken.
also take into account that the sheer amount of tech that has been coming out and its no wonder that people can get a little confused... i now what you are talking about. but think about it in a new light... they also now have the ability to do something new, and if they get taught, and we do a good job of teaching our parents and grandparents and they still dont understand the uses of the tech then they are one of two things.. idiots, or they are refusing to understand.

Refusing to understand I think is most of it. I've seen some amazingly well versed old people and it's becoming more common. And then there's ones that know the words 'website', 'download', and 'modem' and use those 3 words to describe everything to do with the computer. And some that say things like "There's nothing but liberal propaganda on the internet, don't need it" when meanwhile there's propaganda of all kinds.

but generally there is a far greater population of young people that know about everything electronic.. vs that of the older population on this earth..
i just thought about the idea that since we .. as young people are on electronics, this is both our home, place of work, and place of communication.. and that i would also think is increasing the numbers.
and would you look at that we got a combo going... 4 blue going strong.

It seems that information is passed down to the brains of each generation so we're genetically modified to not feel alienated with all this. When in reality, we really should be.
