Below you will find a list of competitions you can enter! To enter a competition from this thread you need to make an audio file of 2:00 to 4:00 minutes in length that follows the rule under each description. Then upload the track to Newgrounds with the following name convention:
"NGHH - COMP - Artist Name" Where COMP is the competition you are entering. For example, were I to enter the sample battle it would be "NGHH - SAMPLE - tingtonger" Once uploaded please post your links to this thread. Judges will be appointed and info on that will be given out later. So, here's the comps!!

NG SAMPLE BATTLE
The NG sample battle doesn't require much explanation. All sounds in the beat must be sampled from Newgrounds audio on the NG audio portal. Points will be given for creative and diverse samples, among other things. So get digging through the audio portal! You need to include a link to every audio submission you use in the description of your audio submission.

THE COPYRIGHT FREE BATTLE
NO SAMPLES ALLOWED! You may use VSTS, record instruments, vocals, beatbox, etc. You may use sampled drum beats ONLY if each noise is initially recorded seperately, ie you've got a snare sound, a hi-hat sound, and others that you then put together to form the beat. In the description of your track please explain what instruments and sounds were used in the song.

TIME TRIALS
This is a team comp; MC's will pair up with a producer (only one MC and one producer per track). Anything goes, as long as it follows the theme and the MC rhymes with the words provided. Producers get points for how well they use the movie and MC's will get points for using and rhyming with the word (s) provided.

Theme: Two 70's Films.This means each pair of people PICKS TWO MOVIES FROM THE 70's! You can sample sounds or just create a lot of sounds that mimic the movie. Also, you can mix the styles together, or have half of the track be the first movie and the second half the other one, etc. Try to choose movies with solid soundtracks so you have a lot to work with.

MC Lines:Cantankerous, orange, purple, Nerf Gun, electroencephalograph, Newgrounds, Langston Hughes, Slutface McGee, defenestrate, bladder infection.

BATTLE FOR NEWGROUNDS
Newgrounds has several hip hop crews. It's time to drop the formality and see who really holds the nuts of this website. All groups may enter only one submission, and this song should serve as an anthem for the crew. Additional points will be given for successful collaboration with all members of the crew. Start working on this track now! Also, please sign the crew in this thread. I, to begin, sign KOA up.

Great. Looks like I'm going to be working towards the sample free, and possibly the time trial. I don't know about the NG sample comp, depends on how much time I find.

SAMPLE BATTLE

I have put together a sample package! You will be judged on how creative you are with the samples. Don't just throw a drum beat over a song and call it done; you want to show off here. Let us see just how much you can slice that sample up. Also, creative uses and microsampling are recommended. BE INNOVATIVE!! You may only use audio from the sample pack. I spent a good chunk of time putting this pack together, think carefully about how all the things fit together! You don't have to use all of the sounds.
