A while back I saw this poster in a library and wanted to know on a scale of 1-10 just how racist NG thinks it is.
I had a better picture on my phone but my phone got smashed and I lost all my photos.

No you didnt. Its clearly photoshopped. And not very well at that.
I swear the term "racist" has become as muddled as the term "troll"; in the sense that it must be applied to everything.

No, that's definitely a poster. Look at the right side of it.

I promise you it's real. I'm not going to sit here and bullshit people over a photoshopped poster.
OMG it shows a black person and says read so its making it out that black people cant read how racist! But if it showed a white person and said read it would be making it out white people cant read how racist!

Look at the book.
I know it's not necessarily racist, but it pretty funny to see a poster that portays Denzel Washington reading Green Eggs and Ham.
Doesn't look racist to me at all. I don't know what you consider racist, but as far as I'm concerned this isn't.
brains.
I wouldn't think that someone like Denzel would allow himself to be portrayed reading Dr. Suess and yes I realize it's most likely for the children but I also wouldn't think that a lot of children know who he is or have ever seen his movies.

Hey, Green Eggs And Ham is a genius book written by a great author. It should not be ridiculed, Denzel just knows a good book when he sees one.
I see the connection, but we can predict the poster is to encourage kids to read. They need to use a book or book series most kids know of and can learn from. In the end, they chose a Dr. Seuss book. Perhaps the man is reading to the posters viewer, or unseen children within the poster. So no, it is not racist.
Besides, everybody knows black folk can't read.

Exactly, except maybe they should have used a celebrity kids would be more likely to know. The Dr. Suess book was the reason I made a mention at it being racist...I figured someone else would see that too and laugh.
I wasn't serious about the poster being racist...just imagine the person who thought kids would know who Denzel Washington is and want to read after seeing him on this poster.
It just promotes literacy. Just like this video promotes many other things.

Of course it's racist!
Black people can't read books! It's so fucking racist for saying that they can to us white folk!

Because I know from experience that I am white, and also make that face when I see a delicious, fresh chicken, I can conclude that that is not racist.
how is this racist they have posters of "read" in every race. brown, black ,white, etc.
The most racist comment I can come up with would involve the fact that an adult black male is reading a child's book implying that he is bad at reading. But even that is loose and kinda ridiculous. It's just a poster trying to get kid's to read, with Denzel Washington.
Nil.
It's just a poster trying to get kids to read.
Not really racist at all.
If anybody finds that racist they should be kicked square in the nuts. So i black guy is reading a book, who cares. When i was in school they had the same posters, some had white people, now do you consider that racist?
I'm guessing you don't sense they are white.
My opinions are so useless, I don't even listen to them.
I wasn't serious about it being racist, I just thought the set up of the poster was funny.
The book + The actor = Not a very good match for something that's trying to get children to read more.
Now please let this thread die.
