Oh please, get off your high horse. The Beatles wrote She Loves You, I Saw Her Standing There, Please Please Me, Love Me Do, P.S. I Love You, I Want To Hold Your Hand, and so on. There's nothing wrong with writing songs about love.

Apperantly POP jsut dosent ring a bell to you. Im assuming those songs you said a from a few years back that were about "STUFF" were POPULAR in their own time. Every generation has its own shitty music to shuffle through...and most fo the time everyone hears it. Its called Media and marketability.
About actual issues? No one cares that much, they just flip the channel to a local news station, or they flip the channel to a retarded news station, these retarded news stations are starting to be like entertainment then actual news ("Is Obama too skinny?"
