Portable has become better with iPhone, people are using iPhone rather than PSP.. So does this means that PSP days are finished ?

By that reasoning, the DS should also be dying, which is untrue...

I don't think so, I mean, Sony is very creative. I'm pretty sure it will make a comeback, but when is questionable. And as far as the homebrew scene, the PSP is far from dead.

PSP? No Not dead (yet). A lot of people still using PSP, I have like 8 friends that bought a PSP.
Iphone and PSP are two diffrent things, It's a lot better playing games on the PSP but the Iphone can call people 0_0... You can play games on the Iphone too but not having the awesome experience as the PSP.

Your point is right, but iphone has the awesome touch screen and whether you are playing Assassins Creed or anyFPS game or resident evil 4 on iphone, the experience and response on iphone is far better than PSP..

I believe the retail side of the psp is dead, however all the homebrew and mods for it aren't.

Though the DS has a lot of original games coming out. I've barely heard anything about the PSP besides the PSPgo.

The PSP Is a solid portable multimedia device. I just passed 120+ hours on FF Dissidia. And have also logged well over that for T=FF:Tactics The Lion Wars and FF VII Crisis Core. I downloaded A Wicked fun Pinball game. Soul Calibur Broken Destiny is pretty fun too. And have played God Of War Chains of Olimpys several times through. Im around 90 Hours on Phantasy Star. Beat the Piss out of Locoroco 1 and 2. Kickin ass on Dynasty Warriors Strike Force. Im looking forward to the New Metal Gear Solid for the PSP. Not to mention they are releasing tons of old PSOne Games for download. So ill be replaying FFVII,VIII, and XI. Resident Evil 1 and 2. Dino Crisis. Megaman Games. Castle Vania Games.
The odd World: Abes Exedos Saga. The Classic Metal Gera Solid. Grandia. Wild Arms. Suikoden. Twisted EMtal 2. Tomb Raider. Lunar . GTA.
Then lets see what current and on the Way
little Big Planet. Another Phantsy Star. Armored Core. Patch Work Heros. Silent Hill. The PSP Minis Section is packed with litttle tidbits of joy. Tekkan 6. Crystal Defenders..... and so on and sso forth
lets not forget Any Durrent PSP come with Skype built in. Surfs the internet. Plays most video formats and music formats. And will play local and web based internet. Oh and you can now down load Graphic comics to the PSP as well.

The PSP is not dead. Homebrew is keeping it alive, and it's probably going to come back in the future. But iPhones are in no way better gaming consoles than the PSP. I dislike the PSP, but there is absolutely no way that it's worse for games than the iPhone. The PSP's time is not finished. If they could eke more power out of it, I think it'd come back in a massive way. If you could get an affordable 720p, or something running on it, then it would bounce back. Simple as.

But if the PSP is dying from the iPhone, the DS should be doing the same thing, as KeithHybrid said. But it is not dying. Or maybe it is. Sales have been decreasing for it, but Nintendo are wheeling out an annual upgrade for it. So maybe handheld consoles are dying. Maybe... the future is simply other portable creations that can run games. Time shall tell.

At the risk of sounding like a troll, PSP doesn't have that many good games. It has Chinatown Wars, but it's not an exclusive. LBP PSP is full of glitches that may never be tended to. And Dissidia gets boring quickly.

But it's not completely dead. If you hack it, you can emulate snes and N64 and PS1 games.

The 360 is only outselling the PSP by 20,000

Based on USA, Japan, and Europe. I don't think it's dead, the DS is definitely doing much better, but seriously who was expecting Sony to take down Nintendo in the handheld market?

I doubt it'll die though, that new MGS game will sell a ton of them.

It's dead, its been dead for a fair while now as well. I own a PSP, DS and Iphone, out of the three, I play games on my Iphone more. Why? The games aren't superior, the games aren't amazing, the games are normally pretty bland... But fuck it, my common trip isn't long enough to pass a level in a full game, so I just play small, cheap Iphone games.

The PSP never really caught my attention either, the games aren't fun and it feels awkward to use. Sure, Ape Escape was on it, but with one analog stick... blergh... The whole idea of the PSPGo was stupid aswell, I only have 20gigs of bandwidth a month, I don't want to waste it on downloading games I can get on a UMD, heck, when you purchase a game off the internet you haven't really got ownership of the game either. Remove the PSP from the market, make a PSP2, from scratch...

Hmmmm. One light tap you say...I bought my PSP the day I finished Basic Training for the Army. That was two years ago this August. Im currently deployed. I dont even know how many times Ive droped my PSP on cement, metal, tile, and various bathroom floors. Still works jsut as well the day I bought it save for a chip I got on my screen

All the other multimedia features (movies, music, Internet, etc.) suck shit as well. 5 hour battery life? And I thought the Game Gear was sucking. Fuck the PSP.

How does watching movies and listening to music suck? I put em on here and watch or listen as I choose. The internet serves it purpose. Nothing amazing or ground breaking. But for fuck sakes what do you expect from a portable gaming device. Its not a dam PC. Its a handheld PS2. Oh and 5 hours of battery life isnt that bad really considering all you have available to you.

Sounds like you wasted money on two decently big impulse buys. You are the target audience for Iphone games. Short time to play. Simple interface. Much quicker gratification for playing.

The PSP never really caught my attention either, the games aren't fun and it feels awkward to use. Sure, Ape Escape was on it, but with one analog stick... blergh... My little sister Loves the PSP-go I got her. Shes only 11 so I felt getting her a Portable game system that didnt have disks was a good idea....and it was. And what do you mean you dont have ownership by buying online games. I paid for it. Its in my download section. My credit card statment shows it. I see it on My PSP. seems to me like I Own it. When I get tired of playing it I simply transfer it to my PC till I wanna play it again. And any game I buy online my sister can have for free. Not to mention I hooked up with a buddy who linked His PSP to my account so now I dont have ot pay full Price for games. We simply go half on every Purchase. Seems pretty dam cool to me.

If I only had 20gigs of bandwidth a month I think Id kill myself...thats jsut fucking retarded and a waste of plan to me. And most of the game available on the PS online store arnt available on UMD...as in Download Only. Plus the re-release of many classic PSOne games are available for PSP or PS3 download.

Removing the PSP from the market would be a bad move. The PSP is the first portable system to have any chance of competing with Nintendo. Droping it and starting from scratch would be an even bigger waste of time and effort. I love my PSP and hope Sony dosent go the route of Nintendo and keep releasing better versions of the same handheld. They have a few versions of the PSP and that makes sense considering how technology keeps improving. I hope to get at least 2-3 more years out of my PSP before I see a PSPVersion2

I never saw the point in making movies in the UMD format simply cause you could jsut get a digital copy and upload to the PSP memory stick...although I did buy The Cowboy Bebop movie for PSP...but thats cause im a cowboybebop fanboy so it goes with out saying....

Looks like a DS fanboy trolling

Just one light tap and the disc drive fucks up forever.
Uh, No it doesn't there slick, PSPs are built a little tougher than that.

All the other multimedia features (movies, music, Internet, etc.) suck shit as well.
I'll have to stop you again, The movie quality was decent, and the mp3 tracks play well and loud enough to hear and enjoy. I don't think that the DS has anything like that, now do ya?

5 hour battery life? And I thought the Game Gear was sucking.
Yes, the battery life is bad, but if you put it in low brightness, it'll last longer, or so i'd heard. At least you can charge the battery on the PSP, unlike the Game Gear.

Fuck the PSP.
No mate, Fuck you.

I think the psp isnt dead it just has cancer and a brain tumor and is mising at least 5 organs it still has a good week ...or day....or hour .....at the most.
