I'd totally love to have surgery so lasers can come out of my eyes!
jk.
Having eye laser eye surgery is PRETTY rare....
Just like NOT having trolls on the internet
i know my teacher once had em,she said it hurts.
Emphasis are great!
I've never had it, coz I got my 20/20 vision. But apparently, you dont feel much coz they use some chemical to numb all the nerves on, and around your eye. But the weirdest part is, you never expect, to smell the scent, of your own eye burning.
My uncle and cousin had it done years ago (back when it was still a bit dodgy) and they were completely fine. As far as I know they didn't feel anything. The only uncomfortable part resting the eyes afterwards - They are a bit sensitive.
Personally I want my eyes done too. My eye sight is shocking and it's just getting worse. Problem is you can't get it done till you're like 25 I think (at least most companies here say 25) and your eyes have to have remained the same strength for a certain length of time (usually a couple of years). So for someone like me whos eyes don't stay the same, just get worse, it'll be very hard for me to get eye surgery for a good few years, if at all.
Still it will be a huge money saver in the long run. Glasses are horribly expensive. I get a new pair every 2 years I guess. I never spend under £150, so yeah its worth the cost if it fixes your eyes.
Much safer now these days too.
I've considered getting laser surgery done, but for my job i'm fine with wearing contacts. But as a last resort i'm considering it. Isn't there more than one type of surgery? The laser one and then theres that one where they cut off the top of your corneus and scrape it clean then reattach the part and then you have to wait 24 hours before you can move your eyes again?
Is that right? or is that some crazy asshole nonsense that i picked up from the rumormill at the schoolyard?
.....There was a hole. *sig by LimitedMortality*
I never had laser eye surgery, and I hope I don't have it.

You DO know what laser eye surgery does to you, right? RIGHT?
My mom got it but she needs to wear sunglasses while shes outside
I had laser eye surgery, it fixed my eyesight and was completely safe. Don't believe what anyone tells you about it being dangerous or risky, it only is if you are going to complete amateurs.
It does not hurt at all.
Your vision returns gradually, I have better then 20/20 vision at the moment from the checkups I have been going to.
Lase surgery today is very common, the day I had mine there were about 12 other people getting it done, we go in and come out and its as regular as clockwork, they have people getting it done everyday.
There are extremely rare cases in which things go wrong but when is there not, but really nothing bad will happen if you go to professionals.
Well worth the cost, depending on your prescription if its higher it will be more expensive.
Yeah best thing I ever had done, good to get it done early when your still young to enjoy it all the way to your 40s when your vision will start to decline anyway.
Got any questions just PM me.
In UK you just gotta be 18 and have a stable prescription for a good few months, I was 20 when I got mine done. Don't listen to your opticians, they will tell you its dangerous and you need to wait till your a certain age etc. They just don't want to loose customers.

I think that I will have to make me do this "laser operation," I see everything blurry without glasses!

My brother is going to have it in a few years.
As far as I know it's safe, and quick.

Cool. I'm sure when I got an enquiry off them they said I needed to be 25. It must have been "Be 25 or have the same eye prescription for 2/3 years".
Still we have like of the top eye surgeons actually here in my town. I've been meaning to get a consultation with him, because I don't mind having to pay extra for something like this.

Yeah, same with me. Both my parents got it and everything went fine, so I think I might get it too. Its a bitch for me trying to see thing far away. I have to wear glasses when I watch tv/movies or play video games or else everything is a big blur.

Hey same here. When I'm driving, I can't see the road signs until I get like 30ft from them without my glasses.
Assuming control.
best thing I ever did. And no, it doesn't hurt.
I have anxiety so they gave me a pill to calm my nerves and let me sit for a bit to let it kick in.
They then took me into a little office room in the back and sat me down in a chair. They laid the chair back and slid this big thing over my face with two eye holes in it. It kind of reminded me of that weird metal thing they make you look through when you get an eye test. You know the one where the doctor asks "which one is better, one... or two" and you really can't tell the diffrence.
Anyway, it's sort of like that but diffrent I guess. They put this clamps on your eyelids to hold them open but it doesn't hurt. In fact, I didn't even really pay them any mind. Then the doctor says he's going to begin the surgery.
The surgery is pretty safe. It's all computerized and keeps track of your eye movement so looking around won't fuck anything up (although you're not suppose to look around). Anyway, you hear a little humming noise and the laser starts cutting. You can't feel anything.
When it cuts the lense you go blind for a second. Which sounded kind of scary but really, it's just like somebody putting something over you eye. I didn't even realize what was happening I just litterally thought the doctor had placed something over my eye for a second. It goes black, then it instantly comes back. Then it's time for the next eye.
I didn't feel anything at all and the whole surgery took maybe 5 minutes. You can't see very well when you leave but only because your pupils are dialated. I got home, took a nap, and when I woke up an hour later I could see like I had never seen before. Then it got even better. I went to work the next day and when I left at the end of the day I had crystal clear vision.
Years later I still have 20/20 in one eye and my other eye is just a tad bit weaker. Don't need glasses, not even to read, and I no longer get eye infections from having to wear contacts. I'd strongly suggest it... seriously, it's the best thing I've ever done.
I'm also considering getting eye surgery, but my eyesight doesn't stop getting worse over the course of the years. As of now I'm even worse than my dad but my uncle (who happens to be an ophthalmologist) said that I need to wait a couple of years before I do it, I'm 21 at the moment.
I want to thank the various posters of this thread. I feel much more confident about getting this procedure on my eyes. Do they do it one eye at a time or both at once?
._.
i had lazer eye surgery it hurt alot but it was so worth it saved me alot of money

I know a lot of people who have gotten various procedures done when they were <25yo. I know one girl who got PRK when she was 21, another couple guys got either PRK or Lasik when they were <25. They all have perfect vision now. The only problem with PRK is you go blind (or close to blind) for like 2 weeks and you're not fully ok for about 6 months after the procedure... so unless you're planning a career as a fighter pilot I wouldn't recommend getting it. Go for lasik.
I know a couple people who have gotten laser eye surgery. Now they claim they have super vision or something, but I think I'll stick with contacts. Lasers near my eye sounds iffy.
