It does not matter what the Bible says, or really what anything says, as people will take whatever they can to get what they want. I mean, even if the Bible never existed (or any other religious text for that matter), there would be some way they would justify their travesties. They could even say stupid things like how the founding fathers had slaves and that means this country was founded on racism, which may in fact be true.
