Here in Holland we get to learn german (+ french and english) in highschool. Well in most of the dutch highschools. But german looks very much like dutch, so I find it easy to learn.

yeah, i speak german and i can understand dutch but, actually forming words to say back, id just....speak german, or english, since you all speak english....

Get Rosetta Stone. It's the fastest and easiest way to learn a new language. You'll learn more from that in just a few weeks than months of classes and it's fun too.

vinny must work for rosetta.
I'd recommend the Pimsleur Method. It's incredibly useful.
It's rather expensive, but most libraries will have it and it's more than worthwhile.

i saw that ad for Rosetta stone, they have a 3 step process, and it looks simple because airports the government ect.. use it to teach their new employees a new language
