Thanks guys, glad you liked it.
No, they weren't my voices, just downloaded from flashkit.
I do usually do my own voices, since they're usually my scripts, but it was midday and everyone was watching TV, haha.
You could request, and i'll use that idea for practice.

Sorry, couldn't go online much. Ease in, ease out? I don't even know what those words mean, unless you mean. :P

It's like the pic below, the circle begins to move to the right slowly and then speed up(that's ease in). Ease out is the exact opposite ; the circle is travelling fast to the right and instead of stopping abruptly it slows down first. Basically like a car accelerating and breaking.

Though in flash, ease usually has to do with tweening. I think here he's talking about the motion of the wave, which I wouldn't call good easing as much as good distortion in simulating motion, especially on the upswing you see the arm getting fatter, it gives the character nice weight.

Oh, I see what you guys mean now. Thanks, and I still need to practice my timing on those; most of the time i just go lazy and go WRAAARRG distortion to get the movement over with.
Glad you guys like it, my next practice will be animation for a song/track (Gorillaz calls out to me, but I'm thinking Band of Horses, too).
How many fps is good? i know old films used 24fps, but i find it a bit fast, and so is 18. :S 12 is too slow.

you should probably do at least 24fps otherwise it won't really come out that smooth. As for the speed. If lets say your working on 12fps you have to do 12 drawing for a second so on 24fps you have to 24 drawings so you can just less movement in each frame that you would've had to do with 12fps but you got to draw things more times

It does come out smooth wit h18. Blockhead was animated using 18 FPS, it just takes a bit more frames. Don't tell people what to work with, let them work with what they like.

when did I TELL anyone what to do, I said he PROBABLY should. If you animate with 18 fps and do more drawings your motions will be smooth but slow

I guess it was a stupid question since it's mostly up to me. Sorry.
I'll stick with 18.
It's a Friday! Maybe I can get another animation up when I get home.
Suggestions/collaborations also welcome (as long as it isn't LOL SONIC FIGHTING GOKU).

(ha ha xP)
Draw somekind of a man like you did before and then animate a car hiting him with pieces flying arrownd with a big bum in the back :D (since I guess you like fast loud animations...)
I just went outside. The grafiks were great, but the gameplay SUKED!!!(It is time to change the actionscript)

here is an excellent description of ease in and ease out using traditional tools.

This is awesome, and I get what you mean now. Yes, someone who used to animate for games taught me this little trick a few years back (two, three?), and I guess I just took it to heart and forgot about it.
Hoooly shit I suddenly remember a couple of other things he taught me. :O

And for your frame rate issue.
You use 24fps...And have each drawing to stay on screen for 2 frames.
This way you'l have to draw 12 drawings per second (like 12fps) but it'll still be smooth.
(because it's 24fps)
OKAY?

No it wont be smooth. Changing from 12 frames at 12FPS to 24 frames at 24FPS but just doubling up the frames wont change a thing, no one would notice. It's the in between frames that make it smoother

Yeah, that doesn't make sense. You COULD double the frames, but that's for slower things like blinking.

I often use 24 fps but animate on twos or even threes. Cool little animation btw, just watch the timing of all of the movements. Sometimes it's difficult to keep track of the motion especially when you're just messing around (I do that a lot :P) and doing straight-ahead animation, but using keyframes for important poses makes it easier to nail timing. Then you inbetween for the win.
