Can't Concentrate

I've tried keeping this to myself, really I have, but I can't ultra bear it anymore!

I'm creating a parody of Google flash. Right now I'm about 5 seconds in... after days! This is because every time I finish a few frames, I find visiting NG or some other nonconstructive clowning way too tempting.

Even if I try to hunker down and slap myself, if I don't goof off, I just completely shut down. I've gotten so desperate, I've searched "how to increase attention span" in Google, which says to meditate, and I have been, but that's going to take months if not years... not to mention me posting this.

I'm a victim of those hipster and violent video games with the naked women, such as that Grand Left Uno doo hickey.

So, Newgrounds, I've confronted you with a problem with apparently no practical answer, HELP ME. (most major credit cards accepted)

Set time, have an hour animating then an hour playing games. yes this will still make it longer to make the toon but at least when you get tempted to play games you can think not yet just another half an hour this way your times shared out and more can get done.

The first thing you need to do is acknowledge that it's YOUR responsibility to force yourself to keep working. The only person responsible for your failure and success in the matter is the person in the mirror.

Try to work as long as you can. Surely you can make it at least ten minutes. Then mark that down. Next time work for twenty, next time thirty, so on and so forth.

-Give yourself appropriate breaks and rewards based on how much work you do.
-Set yourself a daily or weekly schedule.
-Remove all distractions, turn off your internet if it helps.
-Set daily or weekly goals.
-When working on one part of the project becomes mind numbing, work on another part or a second project to refresh yourself.
-Don't give up and don't make excuses for yourself.

There is a practical answer for this, and as impossible as it may seem sometimes, you have to bite the bullet and force yourself. There isn't any secret technique or special method to learn better self control. Sometimes you just have to do things you really don't want to do.

Pull your act, or you're never gonna get somewhere.

It usually helps to have the story or concept of your flash planned out prior to you working on it; you'll be able to organize your time and work better that way causing you to stay concentrated for (in case you haven't got ADHD) much longer time.
