Why thank you my good sir! The reason it looks slightly wonky is because i NEVER use a ruler, also pic quality sucks because i had to crop the crap out of it to get it to fit on the thread

It's not me disregarding, but I prefer to try to make the lines sraight myself because i'm a muppet. I have an untidy drawing style
This is a drawing I made that features some buildings; It's really the only time I've ever drawn them. I had to tinker with the contrast some, which caused some areas to look a little splotchy and for that I apologize.

You are forgive, the picture looks pretty good

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!
lazy excuse...
I hate those.
Not using a ruler for people and things that are organic is fine, as natural things usually aren't straight
insert gay joke
But for buildings, man made thing etc, those are usually pretty safe to use a ruler on
and will look better because of it.

I take your considerations and tips on board and will draw a new building for tommorow as i've got to be up for college in 5 hours

Or you could just give it a bit of practice and steady your hand; so that you dont need a ruler....

A ruler will always produce a cleaner, straighter line than if you just freehand it. I guarantee using a ruler is faster than freehanding it as well. Why take the time to practice doing it by hand when you can just use the tool that's meant for making straight lines?

Why take the effort of drawing something when you can make a photograph...
Im not sure If I agree with myself, but one of the things I learned in my few art classes is stay away from rulers/compass etc.... thought that point needed to be included in the argument here.
I agree that for some things, a ruler can come in darn handy; especially when dealing with perspective etc. Still, I always have a dislike of using it...

I knew I wasn't alone. Also, i haven't had time to do a building, too busy with coursework
Buildings are always great. Add some color. Maybe some more action like added people and such

i got 2 more that are just pencil sketches, do you want me to post them up aswell?
these were actually for a college project a while ago, but if you want ill ink and colour the other 2 for fun :3
Yes please post! I want to see how much an improvement graphic art changes an original sketch.
I want to take classes at my college for art now. I can't believe I haven't already. I guess I was always scared I would have to do boring Logo's in class, and i wasn't interested in that kinda thing.
and heres the other one, ill probably digitalise them tomorrow

You should try and change up the shape a bit, methinks. They all have the same general shape, although different details.

i needed to draw futuristic buildings, these are the four i finalised, out of like 10 all of them had the same general shape with certain bits mixed up, but that projects done and has been for months

Oh snap I think your sketches look a lot better because of the extra features you added in, the pixel art you made is good but its crazy simplified compared to what you originally did.
