Well hello Newgrounds, I'm Alex from the Lolokaust. A friend of mine suggested I came here to get some good c&c on my work. The stuff I draw is adult themed and all in paint. I use paint because I don't want brushes, effects or any shortcuts to what I do.

MS Paint could be described as a purists program because whatever you put into paint is what you get out. I can do a shit drawing in Photoshop and after a few minutes of modding I can make it looks the tits, this is not a luxury you have with Paint.

I hope you like my art, please drop me some feedback.

I don't like that you use paint. I know you think it's cheating to use photoshop or other, more capable programs (even though anyone who knows anything about digital art can tell the difference between a bad image that's modded and a good image), but paint creates images that have awful quality. Look how gritty and jagged your work there is. It's impressive, but it lacks a lot of its potential aesthetic value because of the way paint looks.
Good work in paint, but your stubborn little idealism there seems silly. It's like making yourself use only pencils because you can get more effects by using paints and brushes and because paint is better looking (usually) than pencil. In that situation, someone can splatter paint and make something they can claim is abstract art and it might look decent but take no skill, but if they did the same thing with a pencil it'd just be a scribble. Does that mean that using paint is cheating? No.

your images for being in paint are amazing, I would really like to see what you can do in photoshop, What I would suggest is using the pencil tool in photoshop and getting your purist images from that, you don't have to use the stuff you don't want to, but you will get a higher pixle rate what would be amazing for the quality work you put out.

Great art man, but I would like to see some photoshop/ vector work.

Frankly, there are major inconsistencies among the components of each picture. Take the first one, for example; you have this realisticly rendered naked chick with oddly positioned wings on her back holding a badly drawn severed head of some anime chick.

Things like that make me believe you found a bunch of pictures and traced them.

If that's what you honestly believe about digital art, then you obviously don't know anything about it at all. The difference about drawing this in MS Paint or Photoshop is that in Photoshop you could draw that same thing with a paint brush, though it'd be anti-asiled then.. But not matter what filters or brushes you use, terrible anatomy, horrible colors and bad composition will always remain. If anything, use of filters can often make bad art look even worse.

As far as a critique goes, your anatomy definitely needs a lot of work. I get the feeling you are unfamiliar with the form of the body as is, and you seem to also only give any care about detailing in the faces. It looks like you cut and pasted a photo of a head on badly drawn bodies. Do some anatomical studies, think about the construct and proportions of the body itself.

Also, it would nice to see you spend as much time shading the body and the definitions like you have for the faces themselves.

They're awful. Wings are not just masses of feathers with no rhyme or reason to them, you need to do some research on basic wing structure. These are some pretty nice general references on stylized wings, but you also need to remember to cross reference real wings.

All digital art is an enormous safety net, using one program over another doesn't mean jackshit.

I posted here to get some good advice and Newgrounds so far has not disappointed. What I will make clear is the upload is gif rather than png which has killed my images. One other thing I will make clear is I NEVER trace my work, there would be no point in drawing if I was tracing.

The point about photoshop some of the other artists make is valid also, I just like using paint and like the fact that every pixel on my drawings has been put there by me and me alone.

Thanks for the advice on wings and feathers too.
