Can a doctor tell if you are deaf?

Just by looking? I was wondering.

Here is what happened. About a year ago, I was being complete retard with an airsoft gun (which my mom doesn't know I have, because she hates guns) and I shot it near my ear and now I am partially deaf in that ear. Because I am not allowed to have an airsoft gun, I have not told my parents. I usually get a doctor check up once a year, so I want to know if when a doctor looks in your ear, he can tell if your ear drums have had any damage. Can he?

Why would a doctor need to find out if you're deaf anyway? A deaf person would already know they are, and can simply tell them. They CAN talk!
