this truly looks like nothing more than random doodles on the page. I don't see a focus, or a meaning to any of it. I do not think I can find anything that I can critique, since there is nothing to critique.
I usually am not this harsh, but I find no artistic merit to this what so ever.
perhaps you should returning to art that at least has some sort of focus.
Okay, i'm not really getting this, can you explain the title please?
It might help.
There is an overarching theme to this right, or am I just wasting my time?
nobody goes there anymore. its too popular.
That, sir, is hardly surrealism. That is, for the most part, a pseudo-abstract doodle.
Surrealism is a lot like realism in that it is centered on a subject or multiple subjects and often follows technical ability, style, and composition as a key part. The difference is what it is of. Surreal images follow things outside the boundaries of reality and are often comprised of dream-like elements. A good example of a modern surrealist is Greg Simkins. His work has realistic textures, shading, and detail (all of which is magnificent) but his subjects are absolutely absurd.
Your drawing is a bunch of strange doodles mashed together. It lacks any thought as far as composition and subject go and the viewer's eyes have absolutely no idea where to look. It's not completely without merit; a lot of the little tidbits in there don't look bad. I like the faces to the left. I like the area around the middle. It has a lot of flaws though, in that it's completely disorganized in every way imaginable. It's hard to make out. It doesn't appear to have ANY thought behind it's subjects.
I'd like to see if you can do anything else, because I think you MIGHT be able to make something that's actually surreal in a good way if you thought out your pieces a little more and learned some (or many) things about composition. (Ie: You want to know where to direct the viewer's eye.)
