I mean, these tiny little assholes killed more people then any other animal in recorded human history, (Not directly of course, but through infection.)
So.....
We deliberately killed the Small Pox virus, a tiny microbe- Whats stopping us from killing all the mosquitoes?
Is it not OK to kill them all?

they're the main food source for a lot of aquatic animals. Kill one species and you've essentially started a domino effect in the extinction of other species as well

God put them on this Earth so bugs can eat them. If they didn't, they'd die, which would cause certain animals to die, which would kill those animals who eat them, which would knock human existence off the planet as we know. So yeah, that'd be bad. Still don't like mosquito's anyway.

Killing a virus and killing a virus carrying species is completely different.

Shut the fuck up.
Anyways, they're food for other animals but I think humans would be better off without them.

I say kill the little fuckers. The creatures that eat them will find a new food source anyway.

This. If he believes, let him be. Don't automatically assume that everyone here is as big an asshole as you are.
And no. Those little bastards are food for a lot of different animals, getting rid of them is like getting rid of cows for humans, yeah there's other shit to eat but because that option is gone it will put stress on other sources of food. Or something to that effect anyways. So lets try to look past these infectious bastard's flaws and remember they're here for a reason. Mostly for food.

That's natural selection, bitch.
No but seriously, we can't just breed a similar creature that doesn't have the ability to carry viruses and just let them grow out of control?

How will scientist 15 million years from now create clones of humans if we kill off all the mosquitos?

Because if they didn't kill millions then we would have millions more on this planet, and die quicker from over-population.

Both yes and no.
Yes, they will stop viral infections.
No is what the first poster said. Because, it is true that they are a food source.

What he said.

No because believe it or not they are an important part of the food chain and bats rely on them heavily for food.

I'm guessing you made this topic out of annoyance from mosquitoes OP. Couldn't that be solved with a simple can of bug repellent?

Like Stem has previously stated, it'll create a chaotostrophic domino effect that will eventually lead to our own extinction. You anhiliate or wipe out one species your throwing the natural balance out of order, and in turn many more extinctions shall occur, until there is another balance remade.

The extinction of one species won't kill every kind of species on Earth. But I see what you're getting at.
