I've just switched to my contacts recently. Glasses are great, but it's the fact that they can get so easily dropped, smashed, and lost is why I stick with my contacts. I usually wear my glasses at my house when I'm really tired of my contacts though.
I have had glasses for years and after you wear then for a few weeks you don't even notice them that much. I only had one other pair of glasses, and that is becuase my previous ones broke. My friend wore contacts and he would forget to take then off when he would sleep and they would move to the back of his eyeball. Long story short he had to have surgery to remove them. They aint that bad, i don't mind my glasses one bit.
My opinions are so useless, I don't even listen to them.
I drink from a bottle like a man.
Fuck glasses.
Some people feel content to pour syrup on shit and call it pancakes their whole lives.
I hate them, just get contacts.
My friend let me wear his glasses and I liked them and everyone was like wow because I looked so good in them. I tried to blind myself so I could permanately get glassesbut unfortunately my eyes exploded so I couldn't see even if I did wear glasses. I just got contact lenses instead.

The only really bad thing is when it rains and all of the lights you see through the wet glass goes all shiny across your vision gahhh

1. Are they as annoying as i think they might be? And i think they will be very annoying, a constant bother. Are they?
Only at the beginning
2. How long to you usually wear a pair before you get new ones?
A year... 2 years... sometimes longer
3. Are contact lenses a good idea?
Not really... 1. Very expensive (lenses + cleanser) (on the long run), 2. the eyes feeling very tired (cause the eyes don' get much oxygen)
4. How long does it take to get used to them?
Not more as 1 week i think

Maybe at the beginning but after a while it's second nature, even to the point where you attempt to push your glasses up with your finger when you aren't even wearing them.
2. How long to you usually wear a pair before you get new ones?
It always depends on how much your eye sight changes/how often you wear your glasses/how much you use a computer.
My eye sight changes a lot, but that's because I wear them from like the moment I'm up till the moment I go to bed. I'm lost without my glasses now, and because I work with computers, and am always on mine at home, this affects my eyesight. Your optician will tell you though when you need to come back for another eye test. They will base this on your eye strength and how much your eyes have changed since any other time you've visited. Of course if you feel you want a new test or new glasses then you can make an appointment whenever. One year is usually a good time for another test, no need to get new glasses with that test, just good to know what the change is.
3. Are contact lenses a good idea?
Depends on your eye strength and how you feel about them. Some people try them and just don't get on with them at all. No harming in trying.
4. How long does it take to get used to them?
A few weeks max.
Let me just say that I would kill for perfect vision, having to go through a daily routine in the morning to put in contacts, or to have to deal with scratches or having the lenses fog up, or losing them, or getting them smashed into your face over and over again, I hate glasses, and there's no such thing as contacts which can fully correct my vision.
PM me if I'm an idiot, and should change something

just PM me, CAUSE I'M AN ATTENTION WHORE

they can be a bother but you get use to them.
2. How long to you usually wear a pair before you get new ones?
depends on how well or not you take care of em, but normally you will be rimnded for a new checkup each year.
3. Are contact lenses a good idea?
Depends if you like touching your eye
4. How long does it take to get used to them?
1 week at the most

They feel fine. Just try not to wear them so often because they make your eyesight worse.

Your thread has been seen by the right person. I have been wearing glasses now for six months now.
1. Are they as annoying as i think they might be? And i think they will be very annoying, a constant bother. Are they?
It is at first. You get headaches when you walk and you feel giddy and lightheaded. Soon, your body adapts, and glasses will be as plain as day for you.
2. How long to you usually wear a pair before you get new ones?
It depends on how young you are. If you wear glasses at a young age, your body may grow quickly and you'll have to get new ones.
3. Are contact lenses a good idea?
Contact lenses are not recommended. You have to wash them well every night to prevent eye infection. If sand blows into your eyes, the sand might get trapped in between the contacts and the eyes and bother them. You also need to take them off once in a while to allow the eyes to receive oxygen.
4. How long does it take to get used to them?
To me, only two days.
