Why are my sound effects starting earlier then I set them too? This has never happened before.
Flash 8 if that helps

more of a problem for the flash forum, as this has nothing to do with animation.
anyway, try setting your sound to stream or event, whichever one works best for you.

Try changing the sync to stream. Usually works for me.
To change the sync, go to properties while having the sound selected on the timeline.
Animator/Artist for hire.

Tried that with no luck.
Just done a test and it's happening 20 frames before it should

Maganged to get it to work via 'Override sound settings'. Never had to experience that bug though

You can also try putting the sound in a movie clip. You won't be able to preview it in the timeline, but it usually tends to fix sound sync issues.

you could also screenshot the timeline and screenshot your sounds settings and anything else that might help and post it here. You never know someone might spot somthing you missed.

I'm assuming you fixed the issue? But also make sure your movie doesn't lag, sometimes the movie it self lags, but the music keeps playing.

I have an issue with my external flash player where it plays sounds at totally the wrong time.
All sounds play correctly when viewed in a browser or on another macine - so I have determined it must be the player (unless someone can prove me otherwise?)
If I can fix this bug it'll be a major help.
I edited the sound bitrate ( I hadn't canged it from default then) to 64kbps, which made it work
