Youtube is your friend. Google is your friend. Any other search engine is your friend. Hell, sometimes, even this NG collection can be your friend.

There isn't really much more you can learn from paid tutorials than from youtube or even the forums, except paid tutorials have prettier design.

Besides, after you learn the first steps in animation, you can pretty much do everything by yourself with patience, paid tutorials just look for people who don't know about animation and has them paying to learn things they would learn either way from just googling and youtube search.

Now what I really encourage are animation books. Things such as The Animator's Survival Kit and Adam Philip's BiteyCastle Academy (Which I myself have bought and can endorse it 100%) can teach you a lot either you know about animation or not, as they really speed up the process of learning things such as weight and motion a lot compared to having to figure it all out yourself. I have never read The Animator's Survival Kit, but it is said to be the best book about animation ever written, instead, I had to figure the whole motion slash weight mechanics on my own and I can tell that I still have lots to learn about it, and have been considering buying it lately.

Tom Fulp linked to 3 hours of Adam Phillips animating with commentary to boot. It's free and honestly you can learn a lot from it. Here's the link

I concur with everything you said but these two statements. I've learned so much from watching others animations and pause-playing them to soak in how to make certain movements work and took certain techniques from them. Some animation techniques aren't just things you'll pick up on your own.

But watching and analyzing other's flash, I've been able to improve tremendously.

Don Bluth has plenty of DVDs and a plethora of information on his site. Also, for about $8/month you can join his 'club' and post on a forum with him and join video webinars. I can't recommend it from experience, but Don is a legendary animator and this is definitely worth consideration.
