So I have to do an artist inspired piece for my film and video art class, I'm thinking about doing an animation. I've always done drawings influenced by cartoon expressionism. I was wondering if you guys could give me some ideas as to add to the style.

I know it's super simple, but that's kind of the point.

Sure but why should you limit yourself to doing it simply? Surely you should expand from simple cartoons to something more formal perhaps?

Things can be done "simply" but also done well.

This looks poorly and quickly done, it's simplicity is sloppy and unsure.

Try to take more time and put some pride into your art. Work on your strokes and create a simplicity that actually speaks to someone and that people can relate to.
