We must maintain a balance in the middle. I myself tend to lean to the right but try to stay in the middle of the scale. I mean, this party BS has been going on since when? The very early 1800's? Our forefather George Washington even said we cant be split. I mean, i think the type of healthcare Obama is trying to push should be represented by a stretcher carrying a giant pile of shit, with a medical kit, except the medical kit also contains shit, along with medical instruments, covered in shit. But, if Obama actually tried to fix the medicade fraud(people who dont need it anymore, illegal immigrants ETC)and fixed other probelems such as the immigration system and the border, then i would have been all on board for a thought out healthcare plan since there would be money for it.
And as for a matter such as abortion? I think its absolutley disgusting in every single shape and form, i dont think its just a lump of cells, its a human(and as for people who think not, fast forward ten years or so and then chop the kids head off, then is it murder?)But at the same time, its a necesary evil. If the kids going to be horribly mutilated, retarted, or will just live a short lived, shit, or abused life, then why suffer through it? But at the same time, instead of abortion, why not adoption?
Anyway thats just my thought on switching to the middle and compramising instead of shit throwing and BS'ing eachother. Thoughts?

1. Illegal immigrants aren't covered in the healthcare plan
2. It is not a real human it IS a lump of cells and it's the mothers choice whether she wants it or not.
3. How is adoption an alternative to abortion?
I believe the problem with your arguement is that why the hell is "balance" preferable and not just to compromise anything. People need to realize that the middle ground isn't always the best solution in life. Sometimes extremes are sometimes necessary and even benefitual. That and not everyone will be satisfied.

1)They're not? Well, i supposed the medicade and such covers them now already dosnt it?
2)I ment to mentione that, got a little too caught up, sorry.
3)Its an alternative because that way, the future child still has a shot at life.

Being centrist doesn't make you right by default. Anyone can call them self a centrist and point to someone else as an extremist.
On a moving train there are no centrists, only radicals and reactionaries.
Since this has turned into an abortion debate, don't mind if I add my two cents.
PRO: Thousands of children, specifically males, were not born into economically-depressed, single-parent households, were not raise dejected, unwanted, and considered a burden, and did not become career criminals after Roe v. Wade (read "Freakanomics")
CON: The real Messiah may already be dead.
I won't take a side on this issue because I am not a woman.
But wouldn't you be pissed if some woman gave up your kid if you wanted it? Thus the adoption debate ensues...
humphreys, though I disagree with you on some things, like abortion, I respect you because you, like me, see how stupid the party system really is. All it leads to, in the end, is a bunch of brainwashed cronies fighting with each other so much that nothing gets done. We need to do away with the system, and have everyone think for themselves, using logical, rational thought.
Kopaka FTW.
I don't need a preacher or politician to tell me what to think. I have my own brain, thank you.
I think the real problem is that america's two party system doesn't really stand for anything, there's a lot of different ways to approach most any given issue and an extremist approach is not generally the best one. Another problem is the number of people who think politics is some kind of war between two sides both vieing for dominance over a country when it really is about passing laws, progress and leadership. You can see a lot of evidence for this in the media and how certain politicians act like anyone who isn't with them wants to destroy the union.
But, you think that adopting a centrist policy means adopting your policy which is not centrist in the least. Wouldn't it be more center to leave it up to the woman to decide what to do in the case of abortion. I won't tackle your greatly uninformed healthcare nonsense.
Grow some balls and stand up for what you believe in. You may find middle ground some of the time and you may feel the extreme is the better option. Just don't be one of these indecisive morons who thinks their is always an acceptable middle ground.
Grow some brains. You need to be able to research and gather as much information on a subject as you can so that you can hold an informed opinion and argue for it with facts.
"i dont think its just a lump of cells, its a human(and as for people who think not, fast forward ten years or so and then chop the kids head off, then is it murder?"
"I don't think" is not an argument. It's a statement.
Our growing dependence on laws only shows how uncivilized we are.
As Richard Dawkins said, when there exists two extreme positions, the correct position is in no way necessarily at a point in the centre of these two positions.
Centralism is the worst thing in the world. In Ireland we have this issue where no party seems to have any apparant policies at all- this is bullshit and it ultimately leaves you feeling doomed no matter what you choose.
And that's because you are.

yes becuase between mild and extreme conservitism is the center?
honestly , there isn't a single extreme liberal in congress, name me one person who wants to legalize all drugs, or prositution. What we have is a two factions of the same party , nothing more.
Honestly, I say it's high time that we got some Libertarians and American Communists in Congress. I'm sick of just seeing Republicans and Democrats bickering all time time.

Nothing is stopping them from getting fake ID's and such to gain citizen privileges.
2. It is not a real human it IS a lump of cells and it's the mothers choice whether she wants it or not.
How is a fetus not a human being? It is a human being simply in development. I'm sure that if you knew were about to be aborted as a fetus, you'd sure as hell would protest.
3. How is adoption an alternative to abortion?
The mother has to give birth if she gets pregnant, whether or not she intended to have a child or not. A woman can try to justify herself by saying that its her body and she can do what she likes with it, but the fetus is simply attached to her; conception is the start of a new human being which is dependent on the mother for nourishment but is still a separate being.
Abortion is legalized murder of an unborn human being. Just because the baby cannot protest doesn't mean that he/she doesn't want to live.

Well if it's the mother's fault i.e. she didn't get raped; she could give the child up for adoption rather than aborting it.
Who's your warden, baby?
Good job about keeping in the middle: rant about healthcare, immigrants are to blame about everything, and btw, abortion sucks.

Well, at least half of that is right.
We do need more Libertarians in Congress.
Of course, not that congress will be needed much with those all-encompassing executive orders...
The thing is, it isn't about the right or left anymore. It's about conservative vs. liberal.
And virtually everyone in that place is liberal!
I'm for Glenn Beck's idea of WWFD bracelets for politicians: What Would The Founders Do? These idiots are pushing government expanding from both sides of the aisle. Dems are progressive, GOP is only progressive-lite. To fix this mess, we'll need a real magic trick, the amazing shrinking government! Look back and ask that question, WWFD. And then leave it to the states.

The people should not be afraid of their government, the government should be afraid of its people.
Yet you still base your assumptions in the seemingly polarized but homogeneous spectrum of left-right politics.
Sigh. Republicat, Democran.
As other people have pointed out, the American system doesn't exactly have a centrist option. Put it this way: here in the UK, our most right wing politicians support national healthcare. In America, you see supposedly left wing people opposed to health care. Which is not to say that the UK is particularly centrist, its just to demonstrate that the term means different things in different parts of the world. Thus, when you talk about the middle ground, you are actually talking about a wide range of policies (and not all of them can be the best solution).
I think that's part of the problem with these political systems, where one party (or even one person) can effectively shoot down any mildly controversial ideas. You end up with a lot of watered down policies and sticking with the status quo (which is far from satisfactory). Politicians should be allowed to be bold, even if it fucks things up (which should be auto-corrected by democracy).
Oh, and on the random abortion thing: We commit mass potential genocide while having sex (all of the failed sperm). A ball of cells is not a human. The ball of cells does not care if it dies. The rights of the mother overwhelmingly exceed the rights of the ball of cells. Consciousness is one of the main contributors towards human value (if not the main contributor). Adoption is not an option in many cases, and even if it is, the number of adoptive parents is dwarfed by the number of children in need of adoptive parents. It is crueller to have a child live a life of misery unadopted than killing a ball of unthinking cells. We have drastic overpopulation problems. Hence abortion should be legal.
I think the three ways are wrong because they set your opinion on a whole spectrum. its best to have a free mind and pick what you want. for example I lean left on economics health care and other stuff but in abortion and other subjects my opinion is to the right i am against it. anyway whats the middle road for abortion you are against it or for it. thats why I belive there should be more than two partys because you are always foce to vote on something you go aginst unless you are gulible an brainwash and no mather what always support the policies of your party.
