I dunno, they have a point, photo-realistic explosions look fantastic in animations, but not as good as 10 dollar commissions. Choices choices.

You'll want the style of explosion to match the style of the rest of the game though.

Im not to worried about it, If some one will do it for 10 dollars, Then they get a 10 dollar explosion.
but a commissiond one of quality will be something else.
Also note that if he pays someone to do it, it makes it more easy down the line. alot of sponsors do not want anything that is not created for the game, even if it is free for common use. just breaks down alot of headache in the future.

200 may be a bit much, But it depends on who and how its done. Plus he didn't say 200 flat, he said up to.
