Not Flash player, but for animating. I've been using Flash 8 Professional for years now, because I'm too lazy and poor to upgrade. If you use another, why do you? Which do you think is best? I'm considering trying to get a new version.

Flash 8 pro, just like you.
also for the same reasons.
But as a animator I have yet to see any reason to upgrade to a newer version of Flash, If i did As or so, yeah.
Only reason i even went from MX to 8 was the player was so much better at the time.
Also still using Photoshop CS...no number next to it, Just CS....

CS4, I can't see why everyone says it crashes that much, it hardly does (Mac version).
I don't see any point in upgrading from CS3 though, because the new features in CS4 hardly work.

CS3 and 8, depending on the situation.

CS3. The design is hella sexy and I feel that it is easier to use than CS4. I loved Macromedia but Adobe did make Flash CS3 pretty good.

After using the CS3 demo, I've decided that 8 is far superior in my book. CS3 is the same as 8, but with shinier and more minimal user interface. Not only that, but this shiny look hogs up my RAM and makes it far easier to just go with Flash 8. The only reason I'd recommend getting CS3 would be for organizing a collab.

CS4. I got it because it's what we're using in the classes I'm taking,
But aside from the modification to tweening, addition of bone structure and 3d modeling, as well as the removal of the JScript file you get when you export, I'm not noticing too much of a difference.
CS3 is just as good.

They are only useful if you whore out tweens all the time instead of animating properly. It's not like they hardly work, they are just useless functions.
I use CS4 because I upgraded from 8, so it was basically the same the same as getting CS3. I personally recommend upgrading if you use 8, the lines turn out all squigly and annoying when you use smoothing.

CS5 "Viper" here. Got into the private beta. The interface is a trillion times better and the tools have improved significantly from CS4. You guys will be impressed. It releases in 3 months.

I have CS4 and it works fine but it is buggy sometimes which makes me sad.
But not too sad.
