I just got a pay-check I wasn't expecting this morning and I'm about to head back to my parent's home for the next couple of days and I need something to entertain me when they're at work. I'm thinking television series. I'm primarily into british comedies, some of the American ones too at a push. I also like American dramas. I live in Britain so I am in some ways limited to what I can buy.

So in your infinite wisdom is there anything shows you'd like to recommend. I'll basically pick up whatever shows I don't have that and most people seem to like.

Also, please don't recommend films unless you really (and I stress really) think I'd be interested in them, I'm a film student so I can get most films for free out of the Uni library I'm just not willing to take them home in case I forget them. If I own them then it's less of a stressful situation.

It's quite hard recommending anything really, considering you're a girl.
I guess things like Desperate Housewives, House, ER and NCIS might suit your taste.

Thanks, but I'm honestly not into most of the stuff other girls are into, hense why I post on here. I've tried watching most of those and House was really the only one I kind of liked...and even that's beginning to wear a bit thin.

Dexter and Lost are about the only television shows I can stand enough to suggest.

Comedies:

Two and a Half Man
King of Queens
According to Jim
Friends
How I Met Your Mother
My Name Is Earl

Other:

Law and Order
CSI
Prisonbreak
Dexter

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I've got the first 2 seasons of Dexter already, but Lost is one of those shows I've been fighting against watching but I might just give in and buy it, it always seemed like one of those shows you couldn't catch-up with what was happening unless you bought a boxset.

Yeah, you definitely need to start from the beginning with Lost, but it's worth watching, imo.

Seen all of these in full on TV, except AtJ which I've never seen an episode of so I might check that one out.

How I Met Your Mother
My Name Is Earl

Definetly I watched the first couple of episodes of both of these and loved them. But then I kept missing episodes and I found it really hard to get inot them when I didn't know the plot line from before so I might pick up a couple seasons of these two. Especially HIMYM.

Other:

Law and Order
CSI
Prisonbreak

I tried watching these before but never really got into them, although a lot of friends are obsessed with CSI so I might check it out.

Dexter

I've already got 2 season on Dvd and saw the 3rd on TV.

I suggest, the IT crowd its a very good British comedy Alot of good natures humor, and internet references Also a ton of things you can pause and look at in the background. Give it a try you may like it.
