I'm throwing a party on the 13th at my house so I'll wake up in my bed with my girlfriend on the morning of the 14th; perhaps have morning sex. Then I suppose we'll lavish attention on to each other and maybe go out for food and a few drinks and give each other gifts. Then I'll stay up late because it's my birthday on the 15th, and I'll probably have sex in the evening as well.

So spend a nice day drinking and eating well with a lovely girl and have great sex, twice. After partying the day before and the day after.

I'm usually quite thoughtless when it comes to gifts and giving some girls the attention that they so terribly crave so this might work out for the best that we can't do anything special for Valentines day.

This topic is really weird to read because I'm totally in a "I hate my girlfriend" phase while people here are pining away for some form of human contact while I'm basically saying I'm glad she won't be here.

Even when I had a boyfriend, Valentine's Day was just a consumerist sinkhole created by Hallmark to pull in billions of dollars when we buy candy and flowers and crap to either make ourselves feel good or put up a sappy demeanor for our significant other. I am a total sentimentalist, so I'm not against celebrations or holidays. I am, however, against the idea that we need to take one stinking day a year and cover it over with this idea that we need to show our love to people we care about. What happened to the other 364 days?
