I'll be carrying on as if it were a normal day.
Because I find Valentine's Day to be pointless, since a single proclaimed day shouldn't really be any different as to how people should treat their significant other. Not that I'm saying every day should be 'go over the top with chocolate gifts' day...
But yeah, the concept is stupid.
And not just because I'm single either.
Even when I had a boyfriend, Valentine's Day was just a consumerist sinkhole created by Hallmark to pull in billions of dollars when we buy candy and flowers and crap to either make ourselves feel good or put up a sappy demeanor for our significant other. I am a total sentimentalist, so I'm not against celebrations or holidays. I am, however, against the idea that we need to take one stinking day a year and cover it over with this idea that we need to show our love to people we care about. What happened to the other 364 days?
I applaud all of you supporting/celebrating February 14th. I might observe it by having dinner with friends and watching "The Game" or some other fun movie :)
In the game of love, I don't need Hallmark to read me the rules.
