I was really excited to see this during the superbowl commercials, however the fact that disney is producing this made my heart sink.

It honestly doesn't seem that bad. It seems to be in the same vein as The Mummy, not too harsh but not too kiddy. I've played the game several times and love it, and the movie seems to be capturing the spirit of it well. And the effects are pretty damn good.
Despite how surprised I was at the fact that Disney was making it, I have no worries about it. After the big time success of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films I'm holding an optimistic look at the film.

Why do people think that just because disney does something it means there's going to be a musical number between hannah montana and mickey mouse while the prince kills people? Stop being fucking retarded, look at pirates of the caribbean, it came out fine, better than even.

In the exact same boat. I think it has a shot to become the best video game movie ever. Just keep in mind that the bar is really low for that though. Still looks like a fun and adventurous movie, and like Pirates proved, Disney can make a fun action movie that all ages can enjoy.

I think it'll be good. Disney is not always bad, they suck for churning out shit TV people but movies are usually done well. As previous poster said, Pirates was sick.

I agree with this also. I think the (recent) Prince of Persia games have an interesting enough story to make a movie out of. And Disney indeed did a good job with Pirates, so I'm pretty optimistic about this film as well. I just hope they don't throw in as many side gags as they did in Pirates.
